Interesting info on the ear buds
My mom has severe hearing loss and has been to Doctor a few times with no luck. They can amplify the sound but she can't distinguish words. She says it sounds like the speaker is in a tunnel far away. She has great insurance but no hearing aid will help.I buy the Bionic Ear and she can hear great while in a quiet room with no back ground noise. Nice to have a normal conversation without yelling into her ear. The volume is up and it feeds back if the ear buds are close to unit but it works great. She can even hear in a restaurant to place order but turns off afterwards to stop back ground noise. Then a wire to the little hard ear buds breaks. I get her nice headphones but it makes it sounds like she is in a tunnel and she can't distinguish words. I get soft ear buds with interchangeable little soft form fitting cones. They are just like the headphones, tunnel effect. The only thing I can think of is that the non-cushioned ear buds that come with it transmit some vibration directly to ear canal which helps her distinguish the sounds. So the little cheap hard ear buds work were the soft expensive ones don't.I just ordered another G2 to get the ear buds and am going to try finding some hard ear buds at local stores. The ear buds that come with it just have a thin soft foam cover, old style. The new ones have a soft silicone cone that acts sort of like a conforming plug with a hole in center.

Cheap, poorly made, poor in performance
I should never have fallen for this piece of trash. It is slickly marketed, but cheaply made, has little to no volume control and does not perform at all as advertised. Steer clear of this, my friends, purchase this at your peril. It is not worth the risk.

Okay but nothing great
It works great for conversations but if your using them to watch TV they're not that good. Also noticed a slight static noise buildup after 2 weeks of normal use.I bought them for a 89 year old lady to use to communicate among her friends.

OK for the money.
For the price it is OK, however there is background noise and if it contacts anything like your skin or clothing the noise is very troublesome. It is by no means a complete solution to the basic problem.

Nice Hearing Device
Bionicear G2 is wonderful for someone that doesn't want to wear a hearing aid all the time. The price is very good and the sound is excellent. I love mine and have purchased 2 more for friends. Five stars because it is well worth the money and fits my needs.

Very Good Product
This sound amplifier is about as good as they get, according to my elderly mother who hates technology products and has difficulty using most. She loves this and says that it is easy to use and really helps her hearing. The only problem she has found with it is that if the unit is touched (or moved) a loud crackling sound comes through the ear buds. Other than that one issue, so far, it is a great product that can be recommended.
