A Keeper for My Medical Book Shelf
I highly recommend Defend you Life for anyone seeking ways to improve their basic health and understand the importance of supplemental vitamin intake. The book does not take long to read and I am convinced after reading author Susan Rex Ryan's book that just upping your Vitamin D3 intake is worth just few minutes a day, the gel pills are easy to swallow for most persons, and the cost is minimal.Susan explains in an easy-to-read and understandable way the fat-soluble Vitamin D3's anti-inflammatory properties and how it works with vitamin K2. A friend of mine even in his 90s was getting extra sunlight from a lamp, knew the benefits of getting extra vitamin D3 and would have valued this book. The text with its essential bibliography is very easy to understand with just the right amount of background data and even has anecdotes from the author's own life. You can tell that the author has done her homework from the list of references in the back.Susan explains the differences between types of vitamin D and how to get a vitamin D3 blood test, 25(OH)D, to see determine your level of vitamin D3. Page 48 contains a helpful list of possible medical conditions that vitamin D may prevent and/or treat. I have a friend with a son who has autism--Chapter 7 contains details about how vitamin D3 may possibly help with this disorder. Chapter 8 reveals how vitamin D3 may have properties benefit to combat cancer.I especially appreciated Chapters 9 and 10 that contain information that vitamin D3 might assist with combating cardiovascular disease and prevent the common cold as these two health issues effect many and the expense of over-the-counter and other medications are quite expensive. For those who are interested in saving their mouth, Chapter 11 explains the benefits of taking vitamin D3 to improve periodontal health including teeth and gums.Finally, I especially enjoyed Chapter 19 which summarizes the specifics steps you need to do to go going on defending your life with vitamin D3! It's a good thing my doctor supports dietary and specific health testing as she will be scheduling me for the vitamin D3 test soon so I can determine the best level for me!

Vitamin D3 = life saving
Loved the book! Susan knows her stuff. Recommended this book to my brother as well as we had become deficient in Vitamin D. There’s lots of helpful information about the benefits of Vitamin D. I started the protocol about a month ago. Can’t wait to start seeing results.

A simplified explanation of vitamin D benefits.
Well written and relarively easy to understand.Very well researched with case studies referenced and explained to support her points.I particularly liked the specific focus on each disease or condition and how vitamin D works.I realise that the optimal dosage may vary from person to person, depending on cell absorbtion.However, it wasnt mentioned in more than one chapter how important, even critical that k2 is to take for vitamin D to do most of its work. Also, how important it is to take vitamin k2 with any vitamin D, at least twice or 3 times a day, esp. With higher doses, such as the 10,000 i.u.Lastly, In the chapter on co-factors, it was mentioned that Warifrin (prescription blood thinner) interferes with activities of K2. It would have been nice to have more information, such if that is only for oral pills or dietary K2 due to stomach chemstry, and if the sublingual D3+K3 in mcb oil, would get around that problem. Or at least an explanation, such as take more k2 or what could be done...

Down to Earth D3 Wellness info !!
A premier everyday guide to the world of D3 Wellness for real people. With all the conflicting info and much confusion 'out there', author explains in just the right amount of detail, how and why we may improve our health status, over time, in dramatic ways. Have learned to deprive many maladies that prey on so many of us these days, any open door and easy chance to further establish themselves, by feeding my body it's own best defense. The defense contained in the life giving sunshine, so much harder to find and get that way consistently, by way of reasonable and simple means in a wellness supplementation protocol. No one size always fits everyone. Many will benefit tremendously. One of the most important messages I found, all about doing a D3 protocol including good Magnesium, K-2, etc., something even MD's prescribing D3, may perhaps fail to fully appreciate in importance and proper application. Other concerns inter-related, B-12 deficiency, Thyroid function, VDR concerns, and more, all need to be looked into for those affected. 'Defend Your Life,' great place to get started on overall path(s) to better health. Even more than a welcome and very informative guide book, really is a state of mind.

SAVE YOUR LIFE TODAY
Before reading this book I had 6 doctors and wasted over 4 years of my life that I will never get back. I could barely make it to the mailbox some days. I research everything and question everything they wanted me to take, but they insisted it would help me. I went backwards. I started telling them NO and followed this plan and with a couple other things specific to my issues I am now active, and moving in the right direction. All the hard work has been done here, you just have to read, soak it in and do your best to implement it. Book should have been named "Save your life" :) I tell doctors about it, they get a blank look on their face and warn me about snake oil, but say I am doing better and they won't argue with success. Anyone autoimmune needs this plan, before they start to add up like mine did. I still have hope to reverse some of them. If you want to make the world a better place and help people feel better, tell them about this book.

I feel better than I have in years - maybe ever.
I initially read this book because I heard that vitamin D may help with seasonal depression. I started the protocol in January, in the depths of winter and felt better pretty quickly. I also had a lot of pain in my arm and shoulder and that started to resolve as well. This book explains how it is important to take vitamin D3 along with co-factors vitamin K2 and magnesium. The importance of vitamin D for the prevention of illness is explained in easy to understand terms. There is also a supportive facebook group (Vitamin D Wellness) that I recommend you join if you are going to follow this protocol.

Highly Recommend!!
Taken as a 2 week daily loading dose & 2 pills with Vit K, magnesium, & a spoonful of coconut oil to metabolise. Blood tests have confirmed that These pills have corrected a vitamin D deficiency, where the prescribed stuff failed & boy can we feel the difference

The best money you'll spend
Brilliant, well written, easy to understand and the clearest explanation yet. Day 8 of the protocol and I'm no longer disabled. I'm not even joking! I have my life back after 18 months of hell. Thank you Susan.

Saved my life
A great book and very easy to understand. After experiencing brain fog, eye complaints, migraine, hair loss, tiredness, numb hands, constant illness, rob pain etc etc my doctor tested my vitamin d by accident to find it was untraceable. This book and its "protocol" I credit with the turn around in my health in the last 6Months.
