Orient Kamasu Diver (black dial)
As a fan of Seiko watches, I've been looking to expand my collection and came across Orient and their catalogue of great looking pieces. At half the price of the RRP who could resist? I wasn't looking for over flashy design so decided on a black dial. The specs for this model speak for themselves. 200m water resistance, Sapphire crystal and "in-house" automatic movement with great looks and build quality. It is comfortable on the wrist once adjusted.. the clasp has 4 micro adjusents. Some reviews say that they think the bracelet is of lesser quality but I think it's fine.. certainly better than on my Seiko 5. This watch really is great value for under or around £200. I am so pleased I decided to buy it.

Great watch.
Beautiful watch. Bought for my 19 year old son as his first quality watch. He adores it. Accurate time keeping. Watch looks and feels much more expensive than it was. Bracelet is smooth and strong. Clasp is easy to use, Face is sooooo pretty and the watch stays comfy after wearing it all day. Vetmry versatile too as goes with most outfits he wesrs and different occasions. A great introduction to quality watches for my son. He will keep this watch and build his collection from it.

Amazing timepiece
This watch is just amazing if an automatic is what you are looking for. It looks gorgeous and you can really feel the quality in this product. The dial colour is very difficult to get on camera, or looks much more impressive in reality. The bezel is a tiny bit unaligned with the chapter ring but that doesn't bother me that much. I did have to ask a replacement as the first unit had a small almost really unnoticeable scratch in the dial. I don't like the bracelet, but then I prefer rubber straps. It is quite accurate and precise. In 12 day test it ran faster 4 seconds a day, quite decent for an automatic. The other detail I didn't quite like it's the crown, it felt a bit too small for this watch. But even then, amazing lumen, gorgeous look, quality movement and an almost unscratchable sapphire glass. Quite a bang for the buck. No regrets. This is something that can make quite a long last meaningful gift for someone special, easily. Just a wonderful timepiece, I just can't stop checking the time. :)

Perfect low cost introduction to watches
The Orient Kamasu is a top quality watch with top quality features (sapphire crystal, hand backing, etc) at a affordable price; thus being the perfect watch for someone looking to dive into the expensive hobby of watch collection. The design is also very interesting and isn't just a straight homage of a submariner; the colours are especially beautiful when out in the sun but are otherwise tame. The only gripe I have is with the bracelet which I do find lacking and noisy but I plan on replacing it with a jubilee bracelet once I properly wear it down.

A decent timepiece
EDIT: I absolutely recommend a leather strap on this particular watch, any complaints i had about this watch with the stock bracelet, completely disappeared after trying a decent leather strap on it. Love the dial colour, goes from almost black in low light conditions to green and even blueish in the sun. Very accurate, maybe I was lucky, it gained 35s in two weeks, that brings it down to an average of 2.5/s fast per day. The watch wears small thanks to it's sleek case, it is on the bigger size on my 6 inch wrist but it fits well. I accidentally changed the date on the watch between 8PM and 4AM once, the movement was not affected or damaged and continues to operate fine. The brushed finishing on the case does not match the one on the bracelet, the bracelet has hollow end links and a pressed clasp, the hollow end links are quite thick so I wouldn't worry about their durability, they do however squeak for the first 3 days of wear, after the squeaking goes away just the mild rattling remains which I don't dislike. My biggest gripe would be the clasp, it is very rattly and prone to stretching, I replaced mine with a milled clasp I found on ebay for £6. The bracelet pulls hairs sometimes but it is comfortable, I wear mine slightly loose. Overall happy with the watch, I do not expect £1000 watch quality in a £200 watch. You may be able to get better value for the money with some microbrands, specifically chinese ones but it is up to you to decide if that is watch you seek.

Beats SKX007 in terms of value for money
If you are in the marked for at a budget friendly automatic diver watch, this is one of the very best there is. If not the best (of course subjective opinion). This watch is stunning to look at, easy to read and precise. In-house movement. Manual wind and second-hand hacking. Sapphire crystal is NOT the norm in this price range so the fact that this watch also has that is amazing. Some points to note: 1. The bezel clicks are not as tight as on more expensive watches. Although it has 120 ticks. 2. The metal band is rattles alot and does not have solid end-links. Again, not expecting this at this price so I can't call it a con really. Swap out the band to something else and you are good to go. I must once again stress that this watch blows my mind when it comes to bang for you buck! Look no further. The king of budget automatic diver, the Seiko SKX, has in my opinion just been knocked of the throne. Go check out some videos on Youtube. The green/blue/teal color on the dial is beautiful! Also shipping was fast and no problems.

Perfect first watch with incredible finish
This watch is amazing value for money and looks fantastic on the wrist. It feels very comfortable and top quality. The only downside I can see is the squeaky/ rattling band. However, I knew this would be the case so will probably swap the band out. Nonetheless, this watch is a brilliant purchase and I am extremely pleased.

Kamasu, In depth review!
This watch is Very Comfy, a perfect size for my modist wrists. it's a 41.5mm watch but it wears closer to that of a 40mm thanks to a short lug to lug measurement. The Sapphire crystal is defiately a brilliant feature for the under £200 range, outclassing all of its main rivals and is extremely impressive value considering you also get a hacking and handwinding in-house automatic movement - not only this but mine is running at an incredible +0.5 seconds a day. With a 200m water resistance you will never have to worry about getting it wet, its perfectly capable of going diving in the sea and lounging in pools. The lume is also incredible, extremely legible and long lasting. The dial is a beautiful sunburst effect, looking just as welcome on a desk as it does in the ocean. This is complimented by the applied indices, date window and uniquely charming hands (especially with the seconds hand and its red tip), all surrounded by a grippy 120 click bezel with an aluminium insert, it feels good and lines up perfectly with little play. Honestly the only drawbacks are that the crown can sometimes be awkward to screw down and the bracelet. Although better than many bracelets it is let down by hollow end links and a stamped clasp, both very prone to rattling, which can be easily fixed with a strapcode bracelet or a good nato strap in my opinion. Overall this watch offers extremely good value with a great movement, 200m water resistance, a fantastic brand and sapphire crystal. I would 100% reccomend this to anybody looking for a dive watch at this price range especially given that the iconic Seiko SKX has been discontinued. The Kamasu is a worthy spiritual successor to that watch and is superior in a number of ways, which is why i now think it should be your obvious choice in this segment f the market. Fantastic!
Exceptional value for your money! I absolutely love this watch. Mine is extremely accurate. I have the blue, red, and green models. By far my most worn watches.

Great watch, punches above its weight.
I've owned several Orient watches, this one continues their tradition of excellence. Well made, good lume, nice finishing. The rotor is a little loud, and the bezel isn't particularly 'clicky', but it does have a nice feel to its rotation. This watch stacks up nicely against Seiko/Citizen pieces 2-4 time the cost, as well as entry level Swiss such as lower tier Tissot/Hamilton/Victorinox (as long as you don't care about the swiss origin). Finishing on the entry level Swiss watches will generally be nicer, and somewhat thinner, but it depends on the model. Very pleased with it. **Oooh edit** very important- my review is for the watch itself. The bracelet is acceptable at best. Hollow end links. Kinda loud. Finished ok, but not great. I wear mine on a NATO or silicon tropic style strap and love it.
