It charges my 24VDC battery bank comprised of 3 strings of 4 each, DEKA 8L16 batteries perfectly. No annoying humming, fan is very quiet, unit is lightweight and easy to mount.It gets 4 stars instead of 5 because;1. It costs too much. I think $250 is a reasonable price point for this unit. They're competing with the PowerMax PM3-40-24. Since I don't know anything about the PowerMax unit and I do know Iota, that's what I bought but for a price difference of $140 I was tempted to switch brands.2. It's clearly advertised as coming with the IQ4, 4 stage charging module but mine didn't. When I called, the vendor was polite and efficient, sending the module out 2nd day, but it caused me a delay I wasn't expecting. Since this battery bank runs the heat pumps that heat and cool my house, this was more than a minor inconvenience.3. It came with a NEMA 5-20p plug! I suppose they did this because under full load it will pop a 15A breaker so they wanted to make sure it was plugged into a 20A circuit. Anyway, it caught me by surprise and caused another interruption with the installation as I debated whether to run to the store and spend $15 on a matching receptacle or cut the plug off the end and put a standard plug on. I had a standard plug at home so that's what I ended up doing.4. The line cord gets warm under full load.
