Bandai HGUC120 1/144 High Grade Universal Custom HGUC GUNDAM GM Custom 0083 Stardust Memory

This is my fifth High Grade. It was fairly easy to build, not as easy as the new HIgh Grade Build Fighters Line of Gunpla, but still easy none-the-less. The colour is as I expected. This Gunpla, which is what Gundam Plastic Model Kits are called, is a little...monochromatic, and it desperately needs at the very least some panel lining. That is where you take a tiny marker and fill in the lines to add detail.The stickers included are great, too, and they add detail to the Gunpla. Poseability and flexbility is very good for a High Grade.For parents/novices, I would recommend getting a good pair of clippers to remove the model kit parts from the runners, a good filer, maybe a toothpick to apply stickers, and a good detailing marker.

This is an older kit from the HGUC line. It does require a good bit of pain to make it look good however it is a very easy kit to build and paint and even unpainted it looks good on a shelf. That being said with a little bit of effort this kit can be a prize in any collection.

This is a model kit, not a toy. With that out of the way:I picked this kit up when the price dropped on Amazon. It's been on my wishlist of kits I want to build, so I picked it up. I completed the model in a little under 2 hours (1h, 52m) taking my time.The build quality was excellent, as with most Bandai kits. I had little to no trouble at all assembling this kit. No glue or paint is required, meaning that you will snap it together in order to complete the kit. The reason the price on this high grade is lower is because the GM does not have any extensive backpack features or weapons. You get a backpack unit, a beam saber, a rifle [that looks a lot like a FAMAS] and a shield.The default color of the plastic is somewhere between a baby blue and a light blue. I am not very fond of it, but as a stand-a-lone color it works. I will be painting it a gunship gray to suit my preferences. This kit is a very simple paint job, but I am kind of cheesed that Bandai skimped out on the lower torso part that should be yellow. Instead, they molded it in red.The seam lines are minimal on this kit- I was pleasantly surprised. I will still be filling; and it's always nice when they cut the work down for you. He is fairly poseable, though you may have some problems getting the rifle into the correct hand. Play around with it though and it stays put. I really like the head sculpt on this kit; and I think it will look better once washed to bring out the fine details.The kit has a dull color scheme. For a grunt suit, you really can't expect much more. This is not a Gundam, and it certainly isn't a lead unit. GMs were mass produced and were probably destroyed in droves [fiction]. Despite the dull,out of the box color scheme, the kit offers ample opportunities for painters and more experienced modelers.I will give the kit a thumbs up [rating system: two down, one down, neutral, one up, two up]. It is a great beginner's kit, but do not expect a high level of detail. This GM offers the possibilities, but it will not be a crowd pleaser out of the box like a Master Grade. Still, for the price it is a nice looking kit that will look better painted. I selected this kit for the mobile suit design. I have not seen Gundam 0083 the movie.

Assembled in about an hour. Being an HG line model it has few details, but nothing a good set of markers can't fix. Range of motion is excellent compared to some other HG lines.

Pretty fun to build, just wished they had better paints for it.

Very nice model kit, good articulation, simple details, and moderate amount of accessories.

I build a lot of High Grade kits, this one was fun but didn't feel particularly special. I guess it gets points for being simple and easy.

Easy fun build that kept me interested. And this GM is probably my favorite version...so far

積みプラを消化。パーツ数も少ないのにディティールがしっかりしていて誰でも気軽に完成させられます。当時は1000円で買ったのですが、今だと5000円…。バンダイさんも頑張っているようですが、どうにかならないのでしょうか。初心者向けにいいキットだと思うのですが、初心者は30MM買ってねということなのでしょうか。

Product delivered earlier than expected.Everything as expected.The quality of the pieces is as one would expect to see in a High Grade box, perfect for beginners and if you are an expert hobbyist in Gunpla you can really make a nice piece out of this.
