As an adult who suffers from trichotillomania, I have probably tried over 30 different kinds of fidgets to keep my hands busy and away from my hair. Usually they work for a few minutes and then I just go back to pulling. But not this one! I don’t know what it is but this thing is just so satisfying I just don’t want to put it down once I take it out. It’s somehow comforting in a way I can’t describe and it’s just fun to play with. It’s pretty big for a “fidget”, like the size of my whole female adult hand, so if you are looking for a discreet fidget toy, this is not it. I don't pull at the bristles (as some reviewers seem to) - instead, I rub my fingertips through the bristles, brush my face and eyebrows with it. As others have mentioned, I can't explain why it is satisfying and soothing, but to me it is. Also as others have mentioned, it's about the size of my palm, so it wouldn't be great to use in a work meeting or something, but that's not when I have the urge to pull anyway, so it works for me. I have extreme medical anxiety, depression, severe sensory processing disorder, and severe auditory processing disorder that further triggers more anxiety and depression. The list goes on. I have adhd, and I'm on the spectrum. This amazing brush is a magical TOOL. It calms my nerves when my anxiety sky rockets due to my auditory and sensory processing disorders. Nothing else works. Fidgety are great for a short amount of time, but this is something you won't want to put down. I brush my arms, neck, face, hands, and play with the bristles with my fingers. I've had a couple of very scary anxiety break downs and my husband pulled this brush out and brushed my arms/hands, and it helped me calm down and feel safe almost immediately. It has been working for me for the past 2 years and I had to buy myself another one because my infant baby boy claimed my brush. He loves it too! It calms him down when he's really stressed out. I want a full bucket of these brushes. I'm not joking. I will be back to buy many more. Please never stop making these! If you have any of these issues like I do, this brush will do wonders for you.
