EBL D Cell Batteries 10,000mAh Ultra Pro Ni-MH Rechargeable D Batteries, 4-Pack

These rechargeable batteries are exactly what I needed. They work well and save me from constantly buying disposable replacements, which makes them both convenient and cost-effective. Here are a few positive points: Rechargeable design saves money over time Reliable performance with consistent power output Easy to charge and reuse multiple times Good battery life for everyday devices Suggestion for improvement: It would be nice if they included a clearer indicator for charge level or charging status Overall, these are solid rechargeable batteries that are practical, dependable, and a great value for regular use.

Good product, packaged well and shipped quickly. Had to charge them as they were about 1/4 charged when received. Holds a charge well and powered my equipment as long as high priced name brand standard / non rechargeable batteries. Very pleased.

I have not had good luck with these. I bought some about a year ago, they lasted maybe 3 months before they started giving me error messages. I attempted to give them a second try: bought another pack of 4 - all of them gave error messages straight out of the box. They were replaced and the new batteries are about 2 months old and I get error messages. Pretty bummed about it - was hoping to be more green by using them. I don’t even mind they don’t hold a charge as long as a disposable battery, but the fact that they cost as much as they do and simply stop working is very frustrating. I was using an EBL recharger too. UPDATE: Updating this review for a few reasons: 1. The customer service was pretty awesome. Once I posted my original view (1 star), someone reached out to me immediately with a fix for my issue. As it turns out you can basically "jump start" the rechargeable batteries if they are showing up as errors in your charger. Every one of my batteries are now working again. My only complaint is: they should tell you this little trick in the packaging when you first purchase them. Would save some time. 2. Also: because of my complaint they were very quick to reach out and send me replacement batteries (which I honestly didn't need since the jump start fixed all my issues). So to update: my batteries weren't defective, they were just so low on charge that the charger showed them as an error. With a quick jumpstart, they all now work. Customer service was prompt with a fix and replacements. So - upgrading this to 5 starts.

UPDATE: After using these batteries for a couple of months, they seem to be ok. All are still recharging and performing well other than the lone battery that quit on me after only a couple of uses. I’d recommend these rechargeable batteries. Performance-wise, these EBL rechargeable batteries have done OK when I put them into whatever I needed powering. Battery longevity is another thing. I bought eight batteries and one already won’t recharge. Since I need two complete set of batteries, one 4-battery set to use and one set to be recharging, I went ahead and ordered another four batteries, which will give me three extra. As long as the longevity on these batteries holds up, I guess I won’t have a major complaint. Time will tell. When the one battery blinked out, I’d only recharged it three or four times.

Good rechargeable battery, also would recommend a compatible battery charger that not only charges but also discharges the battery. This battery also holds the charge very well, highly recommended.

They work great! They take a while to charge, but then they hold their charge for months. We use them for our electronic locking dog door.

Note: Amazon seems to have combined EBL D & C NiMH reviews together so I'll make comments about both. I own a lot of NiMH batteries ... mostly AAs & AAAs, but I do have a fair amount of C, D and 9V. The EBL D Cells provide the best performance that I've experienced in NiMH Ds - they blow away the rechargeable Energizers with their ultra-high 10,000 mAh capacity. (4) EBL Ds last a VERY long time in my Sangean AM Dx Radio. I highly recommend them. I have price-watches set & I try to score these via Amazon Lightning Deals - that provides and even greater value. Re: the NiMH C Cells ... from my experience, I would rate the 5000 mAh EBL NiMH C & the 4000 mAh Tenergy LSD/Low Self Discharge NiMH C cells as the best in class (of all NiMH C cells). You cannot go wrong with either - and both EBL AND Tenergy greatly outperform the Energizer rechargeable C cells NiMHs. Also, don't underestimate the importance of having a good quality Battery Charger. I typically use a Tenergy T9688 Battery Charger & I have an identical C. Crane-branded model as the T9688. If you don't have a decent charger, you won't get satisfactory performance from ANY NiMH battery! Choose a charger that (1) Reconditions batteries; and (2) Can identify batteries with bad cells that need to be discarded (recycled).

The good is that they are D cell form factor, and they work great in all my Mr. Beams LED lights. The quality seems good. The bad is that after a few charge cycles, they drop down to 3000-5000 ah. I charged the original ones I purchased 2 years ago in the EBL charger, but noticed that they were not really holding a charge. I then got an IQ-338XL charger/tester/analyzer and ran them though discharge tests using low power 500ma, and that showed the real AH rating. I purchased some in October 2024, and those are already down to 5000ah after a few cycles. I have one of the originals at 7500ah, so there seems to be considerable variation, even when charged the same way. Oddly, the C-cell EBL batteries work perfectly, and charge up to 4500-5200ah in the same charger, and when used in smaller Mr. Beams LED lights. It seems EBL needs to work on their design and quality control for the larger batteries. Revision 1 9/1/25 - added one star - EBL customer service reached out to me and sent me 12 replacement batteries. I appreciate their initiative and efforts. The new batteries appear to be a 2nd generation of the d-cells. They appear to be of better physical build quality, although only time will tell if they are closer to their rated 10,000 mah. I will update as these new batteries are tested. Anyway, good customer service.

Good capacity long lasting. Use it for 1 hrs daily for last 10 days not had to recharge

So far, the EBL Rechargeable D Batteries are working fine. The real test will be down the road after they have been discharged and re-charged multiple times during normal use. Right now, they are working great. Ask me again in six months though after I can give you a much better evaluation.

I dont know yet if ill encounter problem with the battery its too early to tell but i like it so far so no negative comment. Will update if something happens

Bought a 4 pack of high capacity EBL Ni-MH D Cells on Amazon at an excellent price. Make sure your Battery Charger has a setting for Ni-MH batteries as the charging voltage and current is not the same as for NiCad batteries. High capacity Ni-MH batteries can have 2-3 times the power capacity of Ni-Cad batteries but they cost and weigh more, so be sure to consider how you will use the battery before you order. EBL Customer Service is prompt and helpful. I came away a satisfied customer.
