I have only used the "hand grips" for my crutches b/c I don't rest my armpits on the top of the crutch (hence crutch pads are not needed). However the hand grips have been a godsend! I broke my leg a year ago and did not have hand grips at that time and suffered callouses at the base of my hand and painfully sore hands.Now: Surgery was scheduled and I knew I would need my crutches once again. I ordered the Vive hand grips. It has been like night and day. I highly recommend them if you will need to be on crutches for any length of time. They velcro around the hand grips and fit perfectly.The only negative I have noticed is the pads rotate around and often the part of the pad, where the velcro comes together, rotates up to where I grip the handles. I haven't figured out a way to keep, where it velcro's together, at the bottom so I am not pushing down where it joins. It doesn't hurt but it is not as comfortable as it could be and is far better than not having hand grips!

These worked great. I needed them for weeks and they were very comfortable.They cover the underarms and grips. They did not slip or move. Could not have asked for better.

I’m giving these 4 stars because only the under arm cushion covers helped my fiancé when he had to use crutches. He said the handle covers kept sliding and he had to grip harder to hold them in place. Eventually he just took them off. He said the under arm cushions were a massive upgrade and worth the purchase.

These were not perfect but they still helped. The underarm pads took some work to get on, but once they were, they fit tight and worked well- a lot of improvement in comfort.The handgrips- not so much. The pads come with 2 sets of cushions but I couldn’t get them to fit around the built-in handgrips. Not enough velcro. So I removed 1 set of cushions. I was able to get then around the handgrips but just barely. Often, I was forced to re-attach them as the fit was so tight that I couldn’t get to all the velcro. Eventually, O removed the built-in cushion of the handgrip and just used this pad. That resolved the problem with fit- and I put both sets of cushions back in- but without the built-in cushion it was almost back to square one. It was still a little better then without these pads.Overall, I would still recommend. The cost is low, the underarm pads are very good, and overall comfort is better then withot.

When I first tried to use the top crutch pads I followed videos I saw on line. While it was more comfortable than the original pads on the crutch they had an issue with the new pads rolling around on the crutch making it a bit unstable to use the crutches. Here’s what I did to rectify that issue. I took the Vive pads before installing and pulled the sides up over the top, this reveals an inner sleeve section opened on both ends. I removed the crutch top rubber and inserted it into this sleeve, similar to slipping a hot dog into a bun that only has the ends open. It takes a little bit of effort to do this but when done then install the Vive pad on the top of the crutch. Then you can bring the small Velcro tabs underneath the crutch top and secure. Once done you can pull down the fabric that was rolled up and pull it over both the sides and end. While this sounds somewhat complicated it’s relatively easy and once that’s done the Vive pads then stayed in place without rolling making it much safer and comfortable to use. Hope this helps.
