Well made with quality material
I had read a few reviews that the bag was inferior to Carradice and other top brands, but I think those are incorrect. The material and workmanship is top notch and I'm glad I purchased it!I tried to find a video or other information on the web as to how to properly install the cords, but I think I was able to figure it our...

Must be modified
This bag has an internal support, a wooden dawl that is the width of the bag, this takes up space and hinders entry to put stuff in. The back closure is via a leather tab attached to a metal hook....I bought two of these and highly modified them. One I put the wooden support on the outside via zip ties, to use as a handlebar bag. The other I just took the wooden support off and use it as a seat bag, even without the support there is not that much sag. Both of these I cut off the leather straps, and zip tied them to handlebars and seat. I also glued velcro to the leather closure tab cut off the metal hook, and glued on velcrow over it...This makes for a better closure. Now these are very nice bags. They both have a very nice amount of space. The one on my recumbent has 4 tubes, 8" tire tool, multitool, tire irons, and still has space for more stuff. If you get them for under $20 and modify them, you've got a very nice bag.

Nice bag for the scratch.
When I first installed this bag, I put the buckles on the outside and it was terrible. It sagged and was difficult to open. Then I read on Peter White's site the key to installing seat bags is to put the buckles on the inside. Wouldn't you know it: if you look at the picture here on Amazon, you'll note the buckles are inside the bag. I've been riding a whole lotta years and I never knew this. I switched it around, and voilà, the bag works great. It doesn't sag, it holds its shape better, and the closure is much easier to work. You can pay a lot more simoleons for a bag, but why? I get a tube, a flat kit, a Park multi-tool, and my blinky in this bag, with plenty of room to spare for the occasional "other item," and it looks pretty stylin', too. Thanks Banjo Bros.

like in the picture) until I read another review telling ...
I was ready to return this bag because it hung way down off the saddle (Brooks, like in the picture) until I read another review telling me to put the buckles on the inside. Why don't Banjo brothers,or whoever shipped it, include ANY instructions like this with the product? I've attached a couple of pictures to show the first step in threading the straps. You'll figure out the rest I'm sure.It could easily have gotten 5 stars but for the absurdly inefficient closure. I like the looks and I get the leather olde timey theme but perhaps another buckle or - heaven forbid - a bit of velcro?? The hook thing is b.a.d.

Not perfect for every bike but a great shopping experience
The barrel bag is lines with rigid plastic and has a wooden bar for strength. It is very well made but these two things combine to make it less flexible for fitting. It did not fit onto my handle bars or the back of my seat. HOWEVER, the seller was very amenable to returning it and did not charge their, a standard restocking fee after I explained I would have certainly kept it, had it fit. Although it didn't work out for me, I have a good feeling for the seller and the Banjo Bros product line.

Flimsy
I really wanted to like this bag, but it's much flimsier than I expected for nearly $30. the size is good. about as expected but it arrived slightly flattened/misshapen from not having any interior support (foam or an air pouch would have helped) I worked on it for awhile to try and make it round again but it doesn't seem like its ever going to be quite right. The canvas is flimsy and lacking structure, I don't think it will rip, but because of the lack of structure I don't fully trust the "latch" which is basically just a little hook. I wouldn't put anything heavy in this bag because I think even a lightly a bumpy road would cause the top to unlatch and things to spill out the top. Really not a well thought through design choice in the closure. I may send this back, which is saying something because sending things back is such a hassle.

Nice and nice looking saddle bag
Nice and nice looking saddle bag. It won't hold much, and it's hard to get to on my 29" cruiser with a rack behind it, but it does make a nice tool pouch, which is what I bought it for. The price it right, too. Its biggest failing is the closure, which I have found to be generally useless, but the design on the bag keeps stuff from falling out, despite that.

Great saddle/barrel bag! Can't beat the price.
This is the perfect size saddle bag. It's well made though the leather is a bit thin. It would be perfect if they changed the closure that is next to useless. If so, this would be a solid 5 star, and the price is great! Not such a "precious" bag that you will fear losing it. Holds everything I need for my ride.
