Excellent customer service from S&H Farm Supply
First off, this is an excellent machine. I feel we got a really good product that is performing as good as machines costing much more. This is an USA-made product with good quality at a very reasonable price. I can't imagine those cheaper drivers made overseas will perform or last like this one.It did have a little damage when it arrived. Keep in mind that this is a pretty heavy machine. (much more than your FedEx guy is use to toting to your house! I think somebody dropped it in shipping, and that cracked the plastic 3" adapter sleeve you see in the picture attached to the bottom end of the aluminum tube. It comes packed in its own carrying case that you assemble the wheels to transport it, but maybe the carton it's shipped in needs some additional padding to prevent this. Here's the great thing! I called S&H Farm Supply, and they shipped a replacement right away no additional cost.Overall Impression of the machine itself:It runs surprisingly quiet.Easy to startA little difficult to get a post started because the anvil is pretty close to the bottom end of the tube. You can't depend on the tube to keep it aligned at first so you have a wobbly machine bouncing on top of a wobbly post at first. You need a platform to stand on to handle the weight of this thing when starting a post. It's not something you'll just hoist overhead by hand!Fast and effective. It drove 2 3/8 inch pipe posts into dry, hard blackland clay to a depth of 4' in less than a minute, and T-posts went in in half that time. The blown-form, plastic carry case is fairly sturdy and protects the machine well during transport or storage. The nice thing about it is it has wheels to help move the weight.

easy to use, works so well.
Worked so smoothly, we thought it was going to be hard to sink the galvanized post for our dock, this cost a lot to us but it was worth it.

This thing is a work horse.
The media could not be loaded. I got the PDG 3875 and hoped it would do the trick and I was impressed. I got it to install 3.5 inch diameter Schedule 80 drill string 5 feet into the ground. I didn't know for sure if this would work or not but all the research said yes. I was worried this heavy of pipe would be too much for it and stop half way down but I just let it pound for awhile and it did the trick. My project included 6 pipes for a solar ground mount, 3 with a total length of 7'3" and 3 at 13'8". I will post videos and pics of my project if I can.In the video I found out I couldn't do the taller pipes without borrowing a friend's truck for added height. What I did was a bit sketchy, copy what I did at your own risk but for a person that is part mountain goat, this was no problem for me and I'm a feather weight. If a small person like me can lift and use this pounder to do this massive pipe, anyone can use it.I even hit rock on one pipe and it must have gone through the rock because anyone familiar with drill string knows there is plastic lining to the pipe. The pounder still pushed the metal down but the plastic got pushed back up the pipe and into the pounder. The pounder actually melted the plastic pipe and continued to push the metal down. I didn't know it was doing all this until after I reached the depth and pulled off the pounder. See pic with mushroomed plastic on top.Just note it took using water to soften the ground in July heat in Minnesota and 45 mins to an hour per pipe to reach 5 feet. If I had presoaked the ground, it would have gone much faster. The pipe that hit rock took 2 hours to push it down through rock, but the pounder just kept pushing. It is easy enough to use even one handed on top of the pipe so it was easy to pound for that long. Also a warning, I naively thought I needed more grease than I thought it had in there and caused the pounder to plug up the air holes in the piston chamber and Shane helped me with the problem even after hours, talk about customer service. Thank you Shane for the help, understanding, and advice on my project.I was quoted $1400 to push these down, I did it myself for half the cost and I get to keep the pounder. I will use it to put in ground rods and install chain link to keep people out of my solar array too. This has paid for itself already in one job. Highly recommended.

Plastic Parts
I used it right after receiving it. Loved how easily it started and ran (see note below). Drives posts ok.Big problem with the various sleeves it comes with to select post size. Those sleeves are plastic. I drove about 30 T-posts, a very common use for these posts drivers. The sleeve was a bit too big for the posts and sloppy. It didn't hold up and broke by the time I finished. I'm having a friend fabricate a new one from steel. No way these should be plastic. I rated it 4 stars because everything else seems well built.Oh, one more thing - the choke decal was upside down - had to call the dealer to see why it killed at first. She suggested reversing the choke setting and it ran perfectly.I'll send a photo of the broken fitting when I get it back from the fabricator.

This unit is a beast!
This thing is a beast! At 50lbs, it is heavy, which works in it's favor. We used it today to install 20 t-posts. It takes about 30 seconds to install (going very slow and driving 2' into the ground) a t-post. I'm still in the break in period, so i used it at low to medium throttle and it did awesome! Love it so far!

Very efficient and time saving device for fencing
WOW. This is a total game changer for driving t-posts. We added a new cross fence to our pasture, and made quick work of it with this driver. We put in around a hundred posts in one afternoon. No back-breaking, shoulder-aching side effects either! Absolutely recommend for the price & value. Quick shipping, durable, and saves time and wear & tear on your person! Absolutely recommend!

Great machine just fell apart on the first week.
After a couple of days of using it to drive t-post the carb messed up and would run any more. Called company and they was going to send me a new carb still waiting on it months later. I just replace the carb on my own and now the whole driving head broke. It only has about 150 T-post driven with it I would hate to see this thing try to drive pipe like it said it could. Machine works great and has lots of power and weight but it just fell apart right away.
