Miniature Quilts: 15 inspirational designs with templates Paperback – Illustrated, 14 Feb. 2019

This is pure quilting porn! I was inspired to create the hanging illustrated from reading this book. I used some of the ideas and mine is a bit bigger than 14 inches square! I kid you not. These are beautiful, beautiful quilts.There are clear instructions on how to piece extremely accurately, and at the scale of these quilts you have to be very VERY precise. Excellent book. I love it.

A lovely book with inspirational quilt patterns, it is not really suitable for a beginner but for those with experience it is a delight.

This book is for the experienced quilter. The designs are absolutely stunning and very inspiring.The finished quilts are small, so you are not wasting much time and fabric if you do go wrong, but what is amazing about these tiny creations is the beauty of the designs that clearly makes you want to make one. The explanations are easy to follow, but the techniques and additional decoration call for some embroidery skills, applique and a knowledge of free motion sewing. There are some pattern sheets included,and while each design is meant to be a mini quilt, I think a few blocks together would make one stunning larger throw.

This book is full of very tiny quilts but the instructions are not comprehensive. If you are a beginner, you may not know how to do some of the processes in order to complete the quilts. Having said that, the variety of quilts are enough for the experienced quilter to have a field day with! I made one tiny block just to see how it would come out and I was delighted with the finished article. I will definitely be making one or more of the quilts in order to expand my repertoire. I gave the book 5 as it certainly has motivated me to attempt this style of quilt.

Love this book. Don’t know that I’ll ever make anything from it because the projects are so small, but I love looking through it.
