While rebuilding the carb on my 1998 Kawasaki Bayou KLF300A quad I discovered that the diaphragm in the carb had a pinhole in it. It might have continued to function properly but I didn’t want to take a chance after all the work involved with rebuilding. After exhaustive research, I could not find a replacement diaphragm or a rebuild kit that included one. On top of that, most rebuild kits were over $25 and generic. In other words, I couldn’t get details on the specs on the placement parts such as jet size. I also could not find a new or rebuilt original (Keihin) carburetor. Then I stumbled upon these inexpensive clone carbs. The reviews were mixed but I discerned that these carbs had potential, especially if you inspect it carefully before installing. I took the risk and bought one. When it arrived I took off the bowl and inspected the guts including jet sizes, float height and torques. Everything checked out so I reassembled and installed it. The carb came complete, and although I made a few minor tweaks to the outside fittings, I installed the carb as it had been received. After completing the other repairs and service on the quad I opened the fuel valve and attempted to start the machine. Amazingly, it started on the first attempt and, after warming up and a little adjustment to the idle, it ran beautifully. I backed it out of the shop and took it for a little test ride. I can’t describe how good that felt. My only regret is not purchasing this carb before attempting to rebuild the other. To put it into perspective, this carb cost less than 30 minutes of shop time!

Purchased This Bayou style carb to replace the later model Electronically heated model without adjustments on a Prairie 300. While slightly different, overall it didn't take much to convert the stock throttle cable as well as Choke cables on the Prairie to fit the Bayou Carb. The idle adjustment screw is now located on the bottom of the bowl instead of on a remote bracket next to compression release knob, but is still easily accessible. Performance is way better with the Bayou carb as it has a much richer tune out of the box which the incredibly lean running Prairie loved. Throttle response is snappy, the CV style Kehin always has a smooth transition from low rpm to all out full throttle without flat spots. With this being an Automatic transmission ATV, that makes for a very predictable powerband.

Ordered this to replace the carb on my Vulcan 800 Gave it a chance but does not fit. good Product but its just to small from the original carb.

This carb was an exact fit on our KLF300. It fit perfectly and worked properly out of the box. The OEM carb suffered from too much improper idle storage time. I recovered the OEM carb a couple of seasons but this year I just could not get it working properly. This carb solved the issue. Old quad runs as it should!

I had a very badly gunked up carb taken off four times and cleaned. I never could get it right. So I decided to try this carb from Amazon and it worked perfectly out of the box. I wasted a lot of time working on the old carb when I could have been riding. I will never spend that much time cleaning another one. This new carb is a no brained!

Installed this in an attempt to get my bayou 300 to run. After putting it on, the machine does run. But not well. I've adjusted the idle up and down. I've played with the mixture, it just doesn't run great overall. Can't say if it's due to this carb or other mechanical issues, I'm not sure. But one problem with this carb, after the motor gets hot, once I kick it out of gear the idle will go up and up and up with no end. But at a cold idle, it struggles to stay running and will die without choke. Still tweaking it, but not very satisfied at this point.

Installed on ATV and has been on atv for 60 days and has already started to leak fuel from bottom of of carb.

Carb was exactly like the original, fit was perfect and installation was straight forward. Needed a slight mixture adjustment and the idle set, and ran smooth with excellent throttle response. Since the price was only slightly more than a rebuild kit, I would say the value is outstanding. Would not hesitate to purchase again.

Fitted great after a slight adjustment

Worked great right out of the box. Minor adjustment of pilot jet and idle speed was all that was needed. I would recommend this product.

Fit and finish are good. Mounted it on the quad, started it up and went riding. Docked a star for a few little differences from factory. - the choke cable nut/clip didn't quite fit my cable end. Probably could be drilled out as it was just barely snug. I just swapped the nut from the old carb. - the primer spray nozzle is not drilled out. I've never used the primer anyways, so not a concern for me. - the float bowl drain screw is never going to operate, it's in there so tight the head strips before it turns. However it's the same price to buy this entire carb as it is to buy a new diaphragm for the factory carb so I really can't complain.

Replaced an old corroded carb that wasn’t working with this. Bayou fired up as soon as fuel arrived. Runs well. After installation, all I had to do is set the idle speed. Easy and affordable solution, about the price of a refurb kit and no need to rebuild. A+++
