Engaging gateway into science, technology, engineering and mathematics
This toy proved to be a wonderful present for nephews post Christmas birthday. As a typical 7 year old already heavily invested and obsessed with video games I was worried this anaolgue toy would hold little interest for little or no time, however much to my delight that not only did it hold his interest but also provided an accessible stimulus for discussion around Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects. This is a great toy to ignite the imagination of any inquisitive child, as well a developing dexterity and fine motor skills for younger child. As the toy has small part I strongly recommend supervision if using with younger children who still might be inclined to putting the pieces on their mouths, as there would be a high risk of chocking. Similarly if purchased for educational reasons being present during construction of the toy is also advisable, as the toy provides the ideal vehicle (pardon the pun) to explore topics such as circuitry, propulsion, tension, angles, inertia, speed etc in greater depth along with hypothesing, experimentation, testing and observations.I would definitely buy this toy child of any gender from 5 + as an accessible, educational way to stimulate young creative minds and engage with STEM subjects

Great for innovative minds
Bought this STEM mechanical toy for my 9 year-old son who is very much into building scientifically engineering pieces. He used to love building Lego pieces, but he said STEM toys are much more fun.He had fun building this little climber with very little help from his older brother. As he has built STEM toys before, it's not a surprise that he found it was quite straightforward to assemble. For any kid that is new to building this kind of mechanical toy, I would assume it might take some time for them to build as it involves a lot of concentration and understanding the idea of how scientific mechanism of engineering works. It comes well packaged and the instructions are clear and easy to follow, written in proper English. There are obviously some small parts and hence is not suitable to be assembled around small kids, 3 year-old or younger. There are 3 different chassis angle settings to choose from. Simply change the angle adjuster to the setting that you prefer.Would need a battery (not included) to operate this small machine. A solar panel can be used but must be bought separately though. For the creativity and fun it ignites, this is such a fun toy (definition of fun is quite subjective here, would not be fun for those kids who do not like complex construction toy) . Definitely would be buying again from the same seller for more STEM toys.

Its a cool shelf piece nonetheless and would certainly consider more STEM style kits
Bought as a Xmas prezzie for a friends child who is very much into hands on building/construction type toys - It went down really well. Although 8+, it does have some fiddly parts to the build and an adult on hand is recommended. Seen it in action and deffo looks very cool - the white really sets it off and gives it an instant spacey feel. I'm not 100% on longevity as most of the interest goes into building it and then a bit mediocre afterwards. I know its not Lego, but kind of wished it could be smashed back and rebuilt into another style or something just so it got more play. Its a cool shelf piece nonetheless and would certainly consider more STEM style kits

Great for kids to learn how to build things
I bought this for my nephew so we could do it together spend a bit of quality time together. he loves cars trucks and building stuff. The quality is good nice solid pieces. It is good for kids to learn and be proactive. It is a great educational toys allows them to use a brain to put the pieces together properly. It goes together well and is quite easy to do and you can put the batteries in to make it run. batterys are included. Had so much fun spending time with my nephew building this and he was very happy he with it and the fact that he had built it. There are small pieces so just make sure that any small children are supervised at all times when building it. Great fun my nephew's happy with it would recommend

Contains many very small parts for assembly
I purchased this for a nine year old and was surprised to find on opening that it contained so many very small and fiddly assembly parts. In my opinion it is only suitable for teenagers and older.

Disappointed
After reading all the 5star reviews I went ahead and bought this kit for my 11 year old Grandson, He was delighted, but it soon wore off, He along with his Grandad, had to give up, it wasn’t enjoyable, it was rather frustrating, not very good instructions, I did notice there were just 2 other reviews that felt as we do but we are obviously in the minority,

Too tricky for age on box BUT quite good in action!
THe model was good fun to put together, though some intuition was required when diagrams or instructions weren't clear. The wires whih were soldered to the motor both et go and I needed to resolde them. The age recommended on the box was 6+ BUT inside on the leaflet it said not suitable for those under 14 years!!I think it is toodifficult to assemble for 7 or 8 year olds without a lot of help. So Grandad made it for the 7 year old helping where he was able.

Total rubbish!
Bought as a Christmas present for a grandson. Description says suitable for children from 8 years. He is a wiz at assembling, but not with this toy!. I managed to get it together eventually despite the instructions (which are so unclear it is a joke), and I am a Chartered Mechanical Engineer, not an 8 year old. Then it won't work properly because the gears are not meshing correctly. Grandson is now very disappointed, especially as the build up on the box suggests it would be lots of fun. Looking forward to the refund!
