Nobody makes grooming clay like Aveda. I've tried every other brand. This is the only one that looks natural, real matte, doesn't get greasy overnight (the others do), and still looks as good the next morning as the first morning. It holds up to rain well without being stiff, which is pretty impressive. You can continually restyle without losing position, or being forced into one position. This is a fantastic product. Expensive, but you get what you pay for here.

This has been my hair product of choice for a few years now. First picked it up where I get my hair cut & when they stopped carrying the product line I was able to find it here. Back then I had shorter hair and had a faux hawk. I’d blow dry and then use this to style. Held my hair up without being greasy or crunchy. Now I have grown my hair out to a medium/long length with some wave. So my routine now is to towel dry, apply sea salt spray, hand style, let air dry & then use this as a finisher to smooth things out. I’ve also tried the thickening paste, but that can leave my hair a little greasy looking. Pleasant earthy/smokey manly scent, holds well but still workable, with good consistency and matte finish, washes out easily and doesn’t really cause much buildup between washes.

Been using for my longer pixie style for at least 15 years or more. I have fine straight hair. I rub into scalp in the back of my head to volumize and thicken, and what is left on my hands I rub through my hair. They better never stop making it!!! I love it!! Smells great also! Washes out easily.

This is expensive but it lasts FOREVER. My husband uses it every day and he only buys it about once every 6 months. It is the only hair clay that holds all day but doesn’t look greasy which is really important for him.

I used to use Crew Pomade and wanted to try something a bit different. I've used Aveda hair products before and finally settled on the Aveda grooming clay. It has a nice herbal scent that's not too strange. Just a bit of the clay on dry hair goes a long way. If you use too much, it could get a bit too hard to manage. I have short hair and usually like to do a messy look, and it works great. Recommendation is to just use a dime size amount on dry hair, and it'll last all day. Try it at an Aveda store if you're not sure if it works for you or not. They actually provided me a sample before I finally purchased it.

The aveda hair clay smells good and is versatile, you can use it wet or dry and even wet still can obtain a matte look that doesn’t feel gross later in the day like a lot of Layrite stuff

Perfect for textured fringe type look and also just in general side swept ocean look. Towel scrunch/lightly dry hair. Apply sea salt spray after shower when hair is fully wet and then apply very generous amount of this (warm up between hands and scrunch in) and you are good to go- just scrunch a bit until it gets more dry but will leave your hair nice and moisturized in a look where you can keep it for all day with occasional scrunches. Was struggling a bit for the way to apply this but once I figured out that I was just using too little it turned out to be wonderful!

Ormai sono un cliente aveda da quasi 20 anni da quando ho scoperto questo prodotto. Cera ottima per chi cerca un effetto super opaco e non piace l’effetto capelli lucenti. Più caro rispetto alla media ma se li vale tutti i soldi spesi.

Cire que j'utilise quotiennement. Tient bien et ne fait pas grasse.

VERTRÄGLICHKEIT: Ich habe ein Produkt gesucht, was meine Kopfhaut schont, da diese sehr empfindlich ist und schnell aus dem Gleichgewicht gerät. Mit diesem Produkt scheint das so zu sein. Ich habe es nun nahezu aufgebraucht und meine Kopfhaut ist in Topform. STYLINGEIGENSCHAFTEN: Ich habe kurzes, eher dünnes Haar. Die Textur lieg irgendwo zwischen einem typischen Clay und Wachs. Lässt sich gut einarbeiten, ohne Rückstände zu hinterlassen (auch wenn man mal etwas mehr verwendet). Die Haare trocknen nicht aus und werden nicht spröde. Der Halt ist stabil, aber nicht komplett fixiert (wie bei einem Gel). Man kann also immer wieder nachjustieren. Die Optik bleibt matt und es ensteht keinerlei Glanz. Man sieht eigentlich nciht, dass ein Stylingprodukt verwendet wurde. FAZIT: Ein Premiumprodukt für zurückhaltendes aber effektives Styling, das nichts zerstört und angenehem dezent duftet.

A great hair product and a great price. Would definitely recommend as it washes out easily, styles well and is significantly more expensive elsewhere.
