AccuRelief Wireless TENS Unit with Remote Control, TENS Pain Relief Device and Muscle Stimulator, for Back Pain, Neck Pain, Arm and Leg Pain

I ordered this and the "AccuRelief Mini TENS Electrotherapy Pain Relief System" because I couldn't decide which would work better for me. I tried the mini first and I have been battling a tension headache and neck/shoulder blade pain for several days. I was so worn down by pain that I even upgraded to one-day shipping to get them as soon as I could. As soon as I put it on, I realized it was going to help. It was very easy to use. I was reading the quick manual and manuals and other info from the pdf's on the AccuRelief website lastnight so I could use it when it arrived. It is surprisingly simple to use. I was thinking about getting a TENS/EMS/IF/Micro unit but I was so worried about wires and trying to figure out a complicated system. With the amount of pain I am in, I have very short patience. I am battling daily chronic pain and still trying to get a diagnosis. My doctor is thinking along the lines of Peripheral Neuropathy, Multiple Sclerosis, and Fibromyalgia but has not been able to pinpoint it yet. I am typically on narcotics daily to cope and they have not been enough to feel human each daily lately. I am also a mom of three so I have no choice but to keep up with my life. I wore the mini for the 20 minutes until it shut off. It was already blocking about 95% of the pain in my neck/shoulder area (see their neck placement diagram in manual). When it shut off it just felt warm and tingly and the pain was still reduced quite a bit. I chose to try it for an additional 20 minutes and had no issues. I sometimes have skin sensitivities and the pads on either unit haven't caused any issues. I am being careful to take care of the pads so they will continue to last. It has been a couple hours since I started my initial use with the mini and the pain is no where near the intial level. I do feel it creeping back though so I can tell it will come back slowly. I understood when buying this that it wasn't a cure and I am thankful for the amount of relief it does offer. It gives me a chance to feel a little more normal and to also get things done. I really like the pad size on the mini for the neck area. They are a bit smaller and more rounded but the big difference is the little units on the pads. They are much, much smaller on mini and are not as bulky and heavy as on this wireless unit. That is the plus to the smaller disc-type batteries used in the mini. The other big difference is that the mini pads are connected and use both at once, together. I like this for neck, shoulder blade, wrist, etc. I do prefer the bigger separate pads from this wireless unit on my back, legs, hip, etc because they can be further apart or opposite each other on a limb and such. I have done two 30 minute sessions with this wireless unit on my mid/lower back and it is wonderful. I usually have to fall asleep on a heating pad at night just to deal with the pain so I can sleep. This unit has relieved pain there and I really like the results. I was worried about a vacation with my family coming up and I am feeling much better knowing that I can keep the mini in my bag for times when I need some relief. It's so nice to know I have an option now! (I think I could even take this wireless one if I didn't have the mini - it comes with it's own little pouch!) I have used an office-grade unit at my chiropractor and have always needed it on a higher level than normal. These units are both strong enough for me and still go very very mild for others. I am happy with the levels and I really like the cycles they goes through with various buzzing, pulsating, etc. They seem to really do the trick. I don't usually review things because I am limited on time but these two products both deserve the 5 stars and I hope that other pain sufferers give them a chance. They're so easy to use, compact, and offer relief. The price is great too!

I love this product, I love the fact that it is wireless so no fumbling around with wires when you need to set it up. When you have achy muscles and need a relief. This is great, I used to use this type of machine at a chiroprators office now I can do it at home. If you want to help your achy muscles and do not want to use medications for it. Try this. I loved this so much I bought another one just so my brother wouldn't steal mine and says he just "borrowing" it. You can adjust the levels and go up as high or as low as you need.

TENS has really been helping my acute sciatica, but after a while I got sick of the wires, especially because the connectors would get loose & come off & then I would get a shock. This amazingly inexpensive but solidly made little thing solves the wire problem. Unfortunately, the way it does that is to make each of the 2 stick-on pads have their own receiving unit, so they are heavy. This in turn means the pads have to have Gorilla Glue on them so they stay stuck. That part works-- they do stay stuck. Unfortunately, so does the stickem stay behind on your skin when you try to remove them. The residue is yucky & even alcohol doesn't remove it all the first time. Also, there is only one program, two different patterns in sequence. You can't customize it at all, & I miss that feature, which even the cheapest wired unit has.

I've gone through at least ten different TENS machines since discovering them about 15 years ago. They were effective but also complicated with 4 wires and 4 electrodes along with jargon-inscribed controls and needless dials and needles in addition to numerous cautionaries and a padded carrying case. None of them lasted long (not over a year) due to breaking, shorting and shocking problems, misplacement of a critical part, etc. But I kept looking for more affordable as well as more user-friendly and less-conspicuous versions. Then, in the last 5 years the devices went mainstream, appearing on Walgreen's shelves, still overpriced but not outrageously so. Omron was first (a simple, no-nonsense, effective device) followed by ICY HOT (despite its outsized mascot Shaq O'Neal, these offered convenience but not much power, with the battery unit installed on the patch itself). Finally, Aleve came to market with an impressive, competitively priced remote control model. The electrode itself was relatively large and heavy, making it difficult to conceal under clothing. Hence, I decided to look for something else before returning to any of the aforementioned three, and the ideal combination that came to mind was a remote-controlled, smaller and lighter version of the Aleve. Enter the AcuRelieve Wireless. Is it the answer? I'm afraid not, but it's clearly an encouraging step in that direction. The problem I had with it is that both times I've used it, I've been left with burns--leaving big red blotches on my skin (still visible after 2 weeks. I even tried using it on the calf, like the Quell unit, but ended up with anti-biotic ointment and bandages for the burns to my skin. Previously, I had been able to sense when a device was about singe me. With the AccuRelief I was surprised that, after a short and relatively mild session, i was unfit for public display without covering my reddened skin.

I found this TENS unit from my ex-girlfriend. She had spine injury and had been using it for a while now. She let me use it on my neck on my back on my sore muscles and it's the best I could have ever imagined. It's powerful yet small and compact you can literally feel the contractions. It works extremely well. I would recommend this TENS unit to anyone with sore muscles or for whatever reason you need it. I originally purchased a different unit but it wasn't as powerful as this one. I recommend buying rechargeable batteries as it would be cheaper in the long run than buying regular batteries. Super satisfied with my purchase. Will recommend to anyone needing a TENS unit.

Dont waste your money. I bought this as a healthcare professional for personal use. First the battery packs on the gel packs are almost impossible to open. I couldn't open them. After about 10 minutes my 6 foot muscular son ending up hitting the plastic hard several times with his hand and the backs came off. However the plastic is flimsy and each pack takes 2 AA batteries that will need to be replaced every 7 to 10 days therefore it will not stand up to daily use. The wireless electrodes are way too bulky to treat legs, knees, arms or even the lower back of the average person, especially a female. To turn the unit on, you must press a button on the electrodes first, (very inconvenient for the back or shoulders), the remote only turns the unit off and turns intensity up/down. It does not indicate the intensity or even if the electrodes are on which can be dangerous on areas of the body that are less sensitive. There is no way to alter the preset program, which may become uncomfortable for many people when it switches to a pulsed rhythm. I thought it was a great idea, no wires. But this tens unit is very poorly designed. I just returned mine, I would never recommend this unit to any of my patients

When I saw the commercials for the Quell unit my interest was piqued. I didn't realize one could put an electrode on the calf and receive pain control elsewhere. When I priced it however - eww - no. So the search was on. I found this little unit - okay so it doesn't have bluetooth capabilities or sleep monitoring - that isn't what I needed. I only wanted pain relief. So - I bought this. I put it on the same place as the Q unit. Read the directions!!! Don't put them on both legs at the same time. I have been amazed. I have arthritic pain in my hands, hip pain, back pain - and this helps - a LOT! I don't really use the remote - they could probably sell just the little units separate from it but - the price was fine for basically two units for my leg even with the remote. I did make a little elastic/velcro strap for it that I gleaned off of an old kneepad - and right now it's taped to the unit. This keeps it from unsnapping and falling off. I'll come up with a better solution eventually - but this is working! I can stand for longer periods of time with less pain, which in turn strengthens my muscles so that I can stand for even longer periods of time.... the pain isn't completely gone -however it is far more manageable with fewer meds. I'm a happy camper. :)

I have a degenerative disk which has caused pain (for the last 18 years) usually in bending positions but also while walking for more than 7 minutes and standing. The bend position is slight, as if you were going to change the oil in your car or lean a tad to spit after brushing your teeth. This device provides the same sort of electrical stimulation (buzz) to your skin as I recall getting from my chiropractor many years ago when he used this method in addition to manipulation. While it does reduce the pain for me by masking the pain generated by the disk, the program it runs on, essentially 3 speeds from powerful in the beginning to a long ticking type buzz to back to powerful, the middle portion reduces the pain the least while lasting the longest time. I can control the amount of electrical stimulation by using the remote, however there is not a lot of USABLE leeway between low and high since since high leaves a rather sharp painful shock whereas low leaves hardly any. Medium is almost non-existent. A peculiar battery set up almost had me thinking 2 of the 6 batteries provided, did not work Just be careful when checking which end is positive. It does not run for very long, so you must click on the + end of the electrodes which are attached to your body using the adhesive end of the attachment. I doubt this will maintain its adhesiveness for too many uses since it goes directly onto your skin and you must peel it off between uses. I would think perhaps 15 uses or so before you must replace it, but I will check back after more extensive use (closer to 10 for me but the replacements were inexpensive). The remote can only turn it up and down or OFF but not ON, which is okay but it forces you to reach around to locate the positive button on the electrode which is now connected to your back (or wherever you need it). Remembering to put it on in such a fashion where you can find the plus end as well as which of the two electrodes is the A connection and which is the B connection is not hard after some getting used to. All in all it works okay for its purpose and I have been able to lay down on my back while I use it without and problem. (Of course you can position the electrodes anywhere, almost, for whatever ails you). I am just glad I have a large supply of AAA batteries on hand for I do not believe the 6 that were supplied will last too long. (They last about 7 weeks in the tens unit, longer in the remote) I would recommend this item with the above mentioned reservations, however for its price its probably as good as you can get given the present state of the art. I would have liked more play between the high and the medium setting.
