THE CAT IN MY HAT
I had always owned another specific breed before adopting/adoring my first Birman. Now I am obsessed with BOTH these breeds. Similar at times, very UNsimilar at others, these lovable little clowns of the cat world are fascinating. This book really helped me prepare for the lulling rollercoaster ride that came with being allowed to share the home and world Purrkins has allowed me for the last two years. Spot-on insights into the Birman mind and moods were very helpful in learning and taking my place in his world. Good resource reading if you are the owner of a Birman (or Scottish Fold......or just a cat lover, for that matter).

An interesting and personable cat
An interesting and personable cat and having been a dog person for years, I was captivated by this breed and my wife adores it. The book successfully captures its personality and character and is a great buy for first time cat owners like us.

Not as specific as I thought it would
Overall great information especially if this would be your first time owning a cat. However, most of the information was not Birman specific most of it pertains to all cat breeds and their care in general. Great info but not as specific to birmans as I would have like to have seen.

Birman Cats
Collette Anderson writes in a very personal and engaging manner and you can tell the love she has for her cats. The information given is laid out in a constructive and sensible way and guides you along the various topics that you need to think of. It is a relief to find a book that does deal with the personality and character of the Birman along with good sensible advice in the care of this wonderful breed.

Out of date and irrelevant
Out of date . These people who profess to know enough about cats to write a book- don’t know enough about cats. I have yet to find a comprehensive book that covers everything I need to know about the health and wellbeing of a pet cat. I don’t know which of the two books it was but why would I or anyone else be interested in one person’s experience about Birmans, it is not why I bought the book. As these 2 books are practically identical I suggest you don’t waste your money on buying both. The one by Rosemary Kendall published in 2015 needs to update and focus, stop wasting precious space by interviewing some one that nobody is interested in. The other needs updating as it’s for the US market
