Does anybody have experience with making bread with this machine, especially with heavy dough?

I've used my Artisan to mix wholemeal seeded sourdough several times without any problems.  It's very easy to think its not mixing properly and keep adding water but I find adding around 200ml water slowly and leaving the machine to run for a while, the machine will pick up all the flour and you end up with a lovely dough.  You have to trust the machine in this instance and let it do its job.  Happy baking!

What is the reason for the red colour to cost almost £100 more compared to the official websites at £399?

I am 99% sure it will be based on current stock levels. As the person who has already answered stated they have the red one and for them that was the cheaper option. At the moment it is the silver.

There is zero difference in the machines on this page, they are all the same models with different colours however it will be that in whatever warehouse these things are stored in when it came to putting them on a sale discount price they had far more of the silver ones.

Sale prices are traditionally employed to either shift old stock to make room for new or for seasonal sales (such as crimbo) the sale will greatly reduce the sellers profit on each sale but (hopefully) greatly improved the number that they sell.

For example making £50 profit per unit selling a few a month most of the year and a one off price for a week that is too good to resist for the hundres of people who want to buy this; making only £10 profit but selling hundres of them at once etc etc.

In summary, at this exact moment they have loads of silver so that is getting the slightly cheaper price right now
