The writing is sharp and engaging, perfectly capturing the complexities of the legal world while also delving into the human experience. The characters are wonderfully developed, each bringing their unique struggles and motivations to life. I particularly enjoyed the portrayal of the novice lawyer, an underdog who works tirelessly to navigate the intricacies of the law. His journey is both inspiring and relatable, filled with surprising successes that keep you rooting for him every step of the way. One of the standout themes of the book is the balance between human behavior and the necessity of upholding the law. Methos explores how individuals act in their own interests while emphasizing that justice should be accessible to all, not just the powerful or affluent. This perspective adds depth to the narrative and prompts readers to reflect on the complexities of morality and justice. Overall, "The Neon Lawyer" is a compelling read that combines well-developed characters, a gripping storyline, and thought-provoking themes. It’s a must-read for anyone interested in the intersection of law and humanity. Highly recommended! Review: More than a story of a murder trial - The rule of law has moved this country forward to be a beacon of light in a world in spite of its weaknesses. This story is about humanity, and empathy combined with the rule of law. Justice is often corrupted by money, power, and personal ambition but not this time. A quick easy read.

An easy read… and worth it!
An inspiring book to remind us attorneys why we do our jobs. I like how the author tells a story bu incorporating law, procedure and the true feelings evoked when representing a Client.

Salt Lake City Justice
THE NEON LAWYER by Victor Methos, who is an unknown author to many active readers, is one of the most refreshing books that I have read in several years. Although the book is one of fiction, Mr. Methos notes that the story was based on a true account. As I went through the book, I felt as though I was accompanying Brigham Theodore, the 26 year old attorney, who had just passed the Utah Bar Exam. The story starts out reflecting his humble beginnings and details his new association with Tommy Lenin, AKA Taras Fokin; an experienced attorney who has a Russian background and questionable past. His second case is a murder case and he is up against an arrogant/cocky prosecuting attorney, Vince Dale; who threatens to see the defendant, Amanda Pierce, put to death by the State. Suffice it to say that Theodore avoids the death penalty for his client and for all practical purposes, comes out a big winner at the conclusion of the trial. The Neon Lawyer also had a couple of interesting developments emerge as a sideline to the murder trial, which keeps the reader wondering what will happen next. The book is easy to read, has interesting characters, can be described as a courtroom thriller and can be consumed in a night or two. It has my highest recommendation!

A win for the good guys?!
Easy read that flowed smoothly until the very end. If you want a quick read that holds you, this is the book. Four stars are for a well written, engaging story, feel good ending, and a book that you wouldn't mind reading again..

Love Méthos’ Characters
Neon Lawyer is it he fourth book I have read by Victor Methos. After finishing the Desert Plains trilogy, I wanted to see what his first novel was like. I wasn’t disappointed. He excels in characterization, an unusual plus for the genres of legal or police procedurals, thrillers, and detective novels that usually emphasize plot over character and nuance. Methos’ books are page-turners of a higher order. Yes, the plots are engaging, but the characters, who are not the typical stereotypes, are more so. In Neon Lawyer, Brigham, the rookie attorney, is a principled, flawed, relatable protagonist. His boss, Tommy, is sympathetic, congenial, generous, and thuggish. The relationship that develops between Brigham and a female colleague is realistic and undramatic. In the Desert Plains series, men and women are friends without benefits. I feel as if I am living in the real world when I read these novels. Methos can also pull an ending together without seeming rushed or improbable and improves as he advances in his writing career.

On Sale & Short, so worthwhile
I purchased this book during a staff meeting when an advertisement popped up on my phone for $1.99 books. I figured two bucks couldn't steer me wrong for a good trashy lawyer read plus I could read it during lulls in the staff meeting. This book took me back to the days when I used to read Grisham during the summer when I wanted to think less and just enjoy a good plot. Before I knew it my kindle read 50% finished, which meant this book was INCREDIBLY short... which is not necessarily a negative but not a positive either. This particular author has pared everything down in this novel... there weren't countless objections (a good thing) and there weren't long-winded explanations of highly technical courtroom procedures (a good thing). The last 20% of the book read super fast and before I knew it the verdict was read. Overall I liked this book. I particularly liked the character, that he got mad and wasn't the typical expert at keeping his cool. Other reviewers of this book disliked the fact that the character gets this high profile case fresh out of law school...yah, that's what makes it an interesting read. I probably wouldn't read it if he was super experienced and this was just another job to him. That's why they make books... to read about interesting things, not the same-ol, same-ol plot. However, would I pay full price for such a small text? Probably not. Although now that I've read this author I have to admit I'm interested in reading more by him. So the $1.99 sale was a good idea and I'm glad I took the chance.

Gripping and real
Thoroughly enjoyed this. It moves quickly, maybe a bit too quickly as some elements such as the law firm owner’s criminal involvement seemed too lightly touched upon. This is the second book by Mr Methos I read, and I intend to keep reading.

The Neon Lawyer - A Legal Thriller For me this novel is certainly the est I've read from Victor Methos and ticks every box for the perfect thriller. From its shocking opening to its amazing end. A law student working as a janitor finally qualifies as a lawyer and finds himself on his first case representing someone for a speeding ticket, from this moment on I knew I'd love the novel. Next case, first degree capitol murder. I have to admit that I always enjoy a novel more if I really like the characters and all of these are superbly drawn. It also cleverly raises important issues that should make us all stop and think. Every parents nightmare come true. So get the tissues ready this is a moving story. I;m really hoping we'll hear more from this law practice seems like the beginning of a great partnership to me.Well done to the author, ya got me. Highly recommended.

Interesting and a page turner Brings out question of the morality of justice without drawing it out to become boring. A number 2 book of lawyer Brigham would be welcome !

This was a nice, little thing, quite enjoyable but honestly a little too simple and linear....I was expecting some kind of twist or turn before the end but it did not come...shame, but the writing was good so I think I’ll give the author another chance.
