Wave Propagation: From Electrons to Photonic Crystals and Left-Handed Materials

This is an advance treatment of wave phenomena in solid state materials. The first half the book is focused on electron related wave mechanics and the authors do a pretty good job. The other half of the text is related to EM and the effects of superimposed periodicity and resonance. If your studying or researching in the area of wave propagation in solid state physics, this is a nice text to have on ones bookshelf. I think if there is a 2nd edition it would be nice to extend it to included other types of excitation such as phonons, polarons, magnons, etc.

This texbook is really amazing!
