Nice Clean Hair for Mom with No Worries for Me!
My mom had an emergency surgery a few weeks ago and now we've got an extended period of careful care for her wound. While she can shower carefully I don't feel at all comfortable with her trying to wash her hair in there. Knowing there must be tons of others in our situation, I figured there was something for it. A quick browse on Amazon showed there are loads of options and I chose this one based on reviews and most likely fitting our needs. It came quickly and well packaged, of course. Like others have commented, it doesn't come with a pump. I tried to use my yoga ball pump with it but that didn't work at all because it is one of those nozzles that needs to be squeezed for the air to go in. On the flip side, that also means that the air doesn't leak back out in between breaths. It only took a couple of minutes to blow up but that might be an issue for some people. The basin itself reminds me of a pool float made of really heavy plastic. It has a hose that comes out of the bottom in order to drain the water but it also had a nice well fitting plug so that you don't have to use the hose if you don't want to. The hose is a stiffer plastic and wasn't coiled in the package, but rather bent and folded so it had very stiff kinks in it. You'll have to work those out a bit before using it to drain things. We used it a little differently. I filled up the basin with some water and washed her hair using that water. I could easily carry the basin to the bed and easily wash her hair. My Mom thought it felt wonderful and was quite comfortable in the basin and it was nice for her to be able to easily have nice clean hair without too much fuss. I really like this unit and highly recommend it. I'll update with time if needed.

Excellent Tool for Home Recovery - multiple functions
Q: Is this product as advertised?A: YesQ: Would you purchase again?A: YesQ: What purpose do you use?A: Shampooing hair of bed-bound patient recovering from injuryQ: Is it easy to use and clean afterwards?A: Yes. We found it easier and quicker to not use the drain. No drips or spills on floor or bed. We use a metal-heavy-duty-utility cart. Place the Hair Wash Basin (full of liquid) on the cart and roll to the sink to empty, rinse, and then hang to dry.Q: Does the tub hold copious amounts of water?A: Yes. We utilize a 1 gal plastic container. We fill with hot water (because it cools quickly). It barely fills the Hair Wash Basin (full of liquid) on the cart and roll to the sink to empty, rinse, and then hang to dry.Q: Is the Hair Wash Basin comfortable for the patient?A: Patient says yes.Recommendation: To avoid water everywhere, take a bath towel and fold in half length-wise, 3-to-4 times and then place against the front of the Hair Wash Basin as you place tub under patient's head. The cotton towel is more comfortable against the patient's neck and shoulders. The towel also serves a vital function of absorbing spills and splashes.Experience: The Hair Wash Basin provides an enjoyable experience for the patient. Gently pouring the very warm water over the head (hair area) is comforting and soothing. That on top of having their head massaged (shampooing) makes it a treat for him.Other uses: The professional that comes once a month to groom/message feet plus cut toenails, utilizes the basin, too. We put a throw rug on the floor, then 12 mil plastic over it, and thick cotton towels and then the basin over that. We then put 2-3 gallons of warm water to soak his feet. Being a big-bone-tall man, the tub provides ample space for his feet.

Highly recommend (if you have strong lungs!) :)
Made of a soft material (feels like supersoft silicone, but idk what the material is), very soft against the skin of the individual being shampooed. The outer wall consists of an inflatable tubing, and another inflatable part makes for a nice pillow... and while I would love to give this five stars, but the cutout portion in the brim for the neck to rest in is a skosh narrow and it's difficult to inflate, but otherwise this is perfectly designed for its purpose! But that inflation part . . . I'm a healthy 50+something individual, but I had to blow and blow and blow so hard to inflate this thing, trying over several "blowing sessions", and more than once it made me gag! I honestly don't think I would have made it, had we not had a nebulizer machine that I used to inflate it. That's such a shame, too, because it's a NICE basin for shampooing Mom's hair! Idk why it's so hard to inflate, because it has the same type of inflation port as a child's floating toy for a swimming pool (see photo). Maybe it's just time for me to have an annual physical, LOL! So if you have good, strong lungs or a nebulizer air pump, I highly recommend this EZ Access Inflatable Shampoo Basin for the Disabled! It makes it easy to provide a nice spa shampoo experience for someone who is disabled, elderly or in pain. <3

Don't make the job harder than it has to be
I've been unable to shower for about 2 years now and this is the very best way to wash your hair. There are cheaper models available and their product picture is the same but they are NOT the same. The main difference is the quality of the material used to make the basin and particularly the drainage hose. This hose is made of thicker material and after being unfolded it will open up and allow the water to drain fairly easily, which is a huge difference when you don't have time to play around with the hose and you need to get done. I ordered the cheaper version because I thought they looked pretty much the same but I was so disappointed. The cheaper version would NOT drain and had to be removed from under my head to try and open the hose and water splashed onto my mom and sloshed into my bed. Then while she was focused on the drain hose and holding it with BOTH hands to get it to open and the water to finally drain out the other end came out of the pail we use to catch the runoff and soapy water went all over the FLOOR. My mom said " you better get on Amazon and order a new basin because you're not getting your hair washed until it gets here" and she was completely serious. It's hard enough to depend on someone else to care for you without making the job harder than it has to be.
