Perfect for Smart Doorbell
Perfect transformer for adapting modern household wiring for a smart doorbell. Was easily connected and works perfectly. I also purchased a small housing unit for it so it could be put on the wall to allow for it to be changed if need be. Makes no noise and is as small as it realistically can be.

Swapped a Deta doorbell with Navaris Transformer, and the Eufy E340 Video doorbell
Due to the very poor battery life of the Eufy E340 Video doorbell, I purchased this Navaris transformer (ยฃ12.99). I also took a chance and purchased a Ring Enclosure for Ring DIN Rail Transformer (2nd Gen) and Ring DIN Rail Transformer (1st Gen) at ยฃ16. The transformer fitted perfectly in the enclosure and gave a really neat finish. I used the existing wiring from the Deta doorbell that was in situ and used the 0- & 12-volt terminals (not 24v) on the Navaris due to other comments. Everything is working fine with no noticeable noise/hum or buzzing as others has mentioned, and the green plug icon is now displaying on the Eufy app. Iโm not sure if it was necessary, but I drilled some holes on the top & right-hand side in the Ring enclosure just to add some ventilation. So far very happy!

Good, but watch out if your distribution board has a copper bus bar.
While this is a good unit, the description doesn't make it clear that if you have a distribution board with a copper bus bar it will not fit. While it sits on the DIN rail fine, we had to have an electrician hack saw off part of the bus bar to accommodate the unit. It is also advisable to have the transformer linked into an adjacent mcb so that you can isolate it if necessary without putting the main power off. For example, when fitting a RING doorbell an inline resistor is necessary which involves soldering. Best done I think if the power from the transformer to the bell is 'off'. Take an electricians advice and get an electrician to fit unless you are confident/qualified in what you are doing.

perfect for Ring
Our house is a 1920's built with an original transformer using 5 volts of power. this was not enough for a Ring doorbell. Having read the reviews this seemed perfect. As I had an existing transformer it was easy to disconnect (obviously makng sure power was off) and connecting this was super easy, make sure you buy the mount for it also, the Wylex ESE2 Insulated Electrical Circuit breaker. Connect the mount first, then this transformer slides and clicks in perfectly. Wires are super easy to connect and away you go. I am no electrician but this is so easy to install, make sure you turn your power off and connect. The transformer has 3 options for power output. connect ne into the '0' output slot then the other wire is slotted in to either 8v, 12v or 24 v slot. For the Ring door bell this needs to be the 24 volt slot. If you are unsure then use an electrician !! but would take 15 mins to install for any novice that is confident with electrics. Obviously this is my opinion if you do this yourself, if you get electrocuted blame yourself and not me !! Great and perfect transformer for your Ring or any other device though..

All is not as it seems - plot twist - take the negatives with a pinch of salt.
We had one of these installed in our porch about six months ago by a professional. On installation he said there would be the noticeable hum/buzz. It was audible but bearable. The changes must have been very gradual over the remaining months but it did get loud enough that, had been in the house, it would have become intolerable and I would have kindly taken my hammer to it. I say 'remaining' because last Thursday the sound was no finally more and it had died. I was pretty peeved, having missed parcels and needing a doorbell working for the next day so I went on amazon for next day delivery. I was doing my research, checking requirements. I've seen many comments here about sticking with the high street or known in the trade brands. I ultimately went for this brand as I couldn't leave my house that day or next to buy a new one and it was the only one I could get delivered by 1pm the next day. I figured, based on the (negative) reviews, that I probably already had this brand and I should be prepared to replace it again in another 6 months or so. When I opened up my clapped out unit I saw that the professional installer had used the BG (British General) model that everyone keeps saying is the only true quality type. The noisy type, the ridiculously noisy one, the one that became increasingly vocal and then died after 6 months! So I was puzzled but also intrigued to try this version given the comments about how I should only buy BG. I installed this and for the fist time ever....no buzz and it's working flawlessly with the exact same doorbell. Take all the BG brand bigger uppers with a pinch of salt. Perhaps these door bell things are are much of a muchness and some are faulty or infuriatingly loud across all brands but I would certainly not disregard this particular brand over a BG one just because of some negative reviews here. This one was much better for us and it could be for you too. If I update my review here in 6 months time then you'll know it's Even-Stevens :-)

Poor quality, incorrect voltage.
Poor quality item. Iโm an electrician who purchased this item for a nest doorbell installation. The transformer hummed a great deal when installed and the voltage exceeded what was needed (24v) this could have damaged the doorbell! Not only cost me more time to Go and source a replacement. Stay away from this item.

Very Useful
Does what I needed it to do, is AC and allows you to select the voltage you need, which is very useful.
