An Exorcist's Field Guide: To Blessings, Consecrations and the Banishment of Malevolant Entities Paperback – 28 July 2009

I bought this book just out of curiosity. It describes the steps involved in exorcism as per Christianity.Loved the way the author presented the matter in a step by step manner. There are lot of prayers and biblical quotes given.The message that this book gives is that exorcism is not a child's play. It requires great courage , utmost devotion to God and a pure mind. Without proper training don't ever attempt it.

A commendable effort by pastor Swope (who is a seminary trained exorcist from the Protestant Christian sect) to explain the dynamics of an exorcism ritual, with repeated and adequate warnings to not use this book as the only reference guide, if ever attempting the ritual. Again, there are warnings to not indulge in such rituals, without faith and unwavering commitment to God, and complete understanding of the dangers involved in dealing with malevolent entities. While, this book may not reflect the ( Roman Catholic) Roman Ritual exorcism approach in it's entirety, Pastor Swipe has shown no such animosities against the Catholic rituals, and has in the end mentioned a small portion of the Roman Ritual, which is quite commendable. A very good reference guide to understanding the approach to a ritual, but most importantly which does not burn a hole in your pocket in buying this book.
