2017 has not been my year when it comes to books. Life has really gotten in the way and I just haven’t been able to read with quite the same voracity with which I’ve read in the last several years. I normally read upwards of 100 books in a year’s time. I’m on track to read 52 this year. I’ve tried all kinds of things to jump start my mojo again, to no avail. Until now. My last read was greatly influenced by a book friend and I loved it! I completely ate it up. So without her consent, I took the liberty of assigning her as my official Book… Decision Maker… Person. She chose the title Book Beetch; we’ll stick with that. Anyway, I left it completely up to her to choose my next read. She chose Burn for You by J.T. Geissinger, and she knocked it out of the park.I read this book in a matter of about 24 hours and I can’t remember the last time I read a book so quickly. I absolutely could not put it down and had I not had to go to sleep and work the next day, it’s entirely possible I’d have read it in one sitting. I didn’t stop reading until my Kindle was literally falling on my face and I couldn’t stay awake any longer.I have never read a J.T. Geissinger book. To be perfectly honest, I don’t even remember hearing of her before. Apparently this book was on my TBR, but I can’t even remember ever putting it there. All of that to say that I had no idea what to expect from this new-to-me author. I gotta be honest, she surprised the hell out of me. I didn’t expect to love a book so much when I’d never even so much as seen the author’s name anywhere. And apparently this is her fourteenth book! I’ll be checking out her other books, that much is for sure. The characters were so interesting. Jackson “The Beast” Boudreaux is a hideous man at the start, and I didn’t think there was much the author could do to convince me otherwise, but she did it. She won me over. Bianca is a bit of an anomaly. The majority of the book is written in her point-of-view and being inside her head is interesting to say the least. The way she talks and her inner dialogue made me feel like I was reading a book from the first half of the 1900s, and it was almost shocking when some kind of modern technology would be mentioned. It almost felt like it didn’t belong. I know that sounds odd, but it was so charming.Every character in this book has this vibrant, larger-than-life personality and I loved them all. But what I loved most of all was Bianca and Jackson’s love story. It was sweet, it was decadent, and it was worth the wait. I highly recommend everyone read this heart-warming, funny, sexy, tear-jerker of a romance.

Romantically emotional.
Good read. Good story. I laughed so hard and enjoyed learning all about these characters. You had turmoil, love and hidden secrets. It was a good adventure. Thank you.

What an amazing book. 5 stars just isn't enough!
Burn For You is book one in the Slow Burn series by J.T. Geissinger. J.T. is a new to me author. I won this book in a give-a-way. This is one of those times when I am smacking myself in the forehead and asking myself why in the world I haven’t read anything by this author before! This book gets all the stars! I was attracted by the blurb and the cover but was barely a couple of chapters in when I was completely in love with both Jackson Boudreaux and Bianca Hardwick.I think Jackson is my favorite kind of hero. He’s all rough and tough on the outside but inside, he’s all mush with a heart as big as Texas. And that describes Jax to a “T.” Jackson is heir to the Boudreaux Bourbon empire. Except he left his parents behind four years ago and fled his family home in Kentucky for New Orleans. Jackson has secrets, a pain filled past he keeps buried deep inside. He has made a life for himself in New Orleans with his long time butler as his only real friend. Jackson is also father to an adorable adopted son, Cody. It’s with Cody that we see glimpses of the man Jackson really is. We see all the love he has to give.Bianca Hardwick always knew she loved to cook. Her mother ran a restaurant but is now retired. Bianca has opened her very first restaurant, a lifelong dream. She has focused her entire menu around Boudreaux Bourbon. Her restaurant is flourishing but she is still barely making ends meet. Then, one night, the rudest man but probably the most beautiful man she has ever known pushes his way into her restaurant and her life insisting on tasting the food bearing his family’s name.“Don’t tell me you don’t think he’s handsome.”“Handsome? How could I tell? It’s impossible to see past the forked tongue and the horns!”These two get off to a rough start. Jax has so much trouble expressing himself except when it comes to anger. He’s great expressing that! From the start he’s mesmerized with Bianca. Her body, her sass, the way he doesn’t intimidate her. At times, though, he also broke my heart. He was so insecure and was constantly second guessing his own words or her words or actions. But then life kind of intervened and gave Jax a reason to tie himself to her. By his upcoming birthday, if he wasn’t either married or working for his father’s business, he would lose his entire inheritance. He would be penniless. Moving back to the family home was out of the question. But the idea of marriage to one particular woman wasn’t bad at all.Bianca also has her life turned upside down when she finds out her beloved mother is sick. Neither of them have money or health insurance. So Jackson’s proposal of sorts isn’t a bad idea. He wants to save his inheritance and she wants to save her mother. They both get what they want.“When her lips curved up at the corners, I felt like I’d been living my life up to then at the bottom of a dark well filled with trash and slimy water, and someone had just lifted the lid and lowered me a ladder.”These two together were magic. Bianca stood toe to toe with Jackson and held her own. The more she got to know him, the more she liked him. She made him feel things he hadn’t felt in a very long time.“I stared at his profile and wondered how many more layers I’d have to peel back before I uncovered the true heart of the walking contradiction that was Jackson Walker Boudreaux.”I am just in love with this book. It was so much fun, the banter between them, they were both so slow to realize their feelings. If I had one little complaint, it is I wished for an epilogue. I would have loved a little glimpse into their future. Maybe it was just that I didn’t want it to be over. I hope I have been able to say something to help to convince you to give this book a try. I most definitely will be waiting for book two in this series, Melt For You. I don’t know who it is about yet but I can’t wait to see.“With my slow exhalation, my final, futile shreds of resistance slipped away. My lips said, I’m an idiot. Please forgive me.” But my heart said, I’m yours.”

Sweet
Literally a slow burn but the storyline was sweet. Enemies to lovers trope that makes you want to go find your brooding caveman. This is my first book from this writer and I'm happy to say it won't be my last.

Excellent banter mediocre heat
Good: This author has a gift for clever exchanges between characters. The female main character is a bit of a nitwit, but she’s kind and not as self conscious as most.Bad: The story is contrived. You’ll roll your eyes.Ugly: The male main character is written almost like an incel, which isn’t attractive (imho).

this was so cute!
I love beauty and the beast so choosing this read was a no brainer! I love the aspect of her being a chef, I love the biracial love. And the banter sent me out of here. I adored the beast aka Jackson which funny enough is my family’s last name and my mom’s name was in the book. Just all around a good and fun read!

Newfound fan of slow burns
This book was my first slow burn book and I honestly didn’t even realize so until i finished it. It was such a cute and interesting story. The characters were so well written, as well as the plot, and I just thoroughly enjoyed every page. I wish there would’ve been an epilogue or some kind of “months/years later” bit because it just ended. But overall it was cute!!

????!!!

Hooked through out the book
Fabulous writing and lots of humour. Definitely worth reading. Such a beautiful pair. Weird but perfect for each other. Been so long since I’ve read a book that has me hooked till the end.

Delightful reading
It's such a slow burn but I loved it, and read it in one go! I would have given it 5 stars if it would have had a little more development at the end, an epilogue or smth. This paring is exceptional, I laughed, cried and sighted with them during the whole story. I would have loved a little more of E scenes.. too much spark to have it neglected like that 😅
