Brats in Feathers, Keeping Canaries: A Guide For The Pet Canary Owner

I very much recommend this book.

I have had canaries for over 35 years, have 7 right now and have raised a dozen or so from eggs. I don't understand the negative reviews. Granted, her books do not many illustrations or photos and they are not in color. However, it is absolutely one of the best books out there on keeping canaries - if you can read and not just look at pictures. I have both of her books plus about a dozen other highly rated canary books, but her's are my "go to" references.

I enjoyed reading Robirda's book. It's been very helpful to me with my canary Larry. I like knowing the details of what foods to offer him and what to avoid. I'm just a canary pet owner. Not a breeder. I love my little Larry though.

I have loved and owned canaries for many years, thus I have many tools for learning the care and breeding of these wonderful birds. Brats in Feathers far surpasses anything I have read by far. Robirda is a worldbook of knowledge and shares such in a way that is understandable to the novice and experienced breeder. The book covers every aspect of the canary with wonderful photos and added commentary from the author that makes your smile. It is a must have for any canary owner or someone who is thinking of owning and/or breeding this charming bird.

Nice book, well written. However, not a single picture to accompany explanations. As someone new to breeding canaries, I find Canary Tales a much more useful and practical book. Wish I hadn't wasted my money when I already owned Canary Tales. I was simply trying to learn more but there really wasn't anything new for me in here except a lot of scientific explanations.

nicely illustrated and informative book with attention to detail not normally found in your average books for breeding birds

Good book, not as good as her first one, but collection of articles format was fine.

THOUGHT THE PICTURES INSIDE WERE COLORED - I WAS DISAPPOINTED TO SEE ALL PICS IN BLACK AND WHITE
