poor torso kit
I had very poor luck with this kit. It says to allow 2 min to mix the blue skin coat. It took me almost 4 minutes in cold water and I still had large lumps not mixed up yet. I got about half done and it was already setting up and starting to fall off on the edges. Then it says to cut the plaster strips in way to long of strips if I may say so. They stick to itself and wasted time trying to straighten them out. I would never got longer than 10 to 12 inch if I were to try again. It may take longer but I think it will handle a lot easier. And an assistant could be dipping the plaster strips in water while the other would apply it.I also found that the amount of water suggested for each stage of mixing may need more water than what it said. I used the suggested amount and it was just to dry for me to really handle. The cast took almost 1 1/2 weeks to cure and it had a lot of mold growing before I got the blue primary coat removed. It is very very fragile and cracks and breaks very easily. I still do not know what can be done to "plastic coat" it on the back side to make it stronger. It may be easier for two people to work together in mixing the goop but the model may not go for another person helping. If the model is OK with an assistant, then it is highly recommended, One, mix a small amount while the other puts it on , and while he is putting it on, the assist. can be mixing more goop. I would not mind trying again if the kit just did not cost so much. Sorry for the negative report but I did try.
