Retro 51 Easy Flow 9000 Ballpoint Refills, Black Ink, 3-Pack – German Engineered for Smooth Writing, Compatible with Tornado Pens

I love my retro pens. I always carry a reto pen and a moleskine in my pocket. Old school. I know I could use my iPhone's notes... but I like to write things down. Also provides the optics that I am paying attention... and indeed, I am. No distractions from the incoming messages. The refills fit and write beautifully.

I bought these to refill the ink in the Apple pens that I bought from the Apple company store. The Apple pen uses the same Retro 1951 ballpoint ink refill. I bought 3 Apple pens and of course, I bought the colors to match the iPhones, the laptop and the iPad :<). Aside from being a pen with an Apple logo on it, these pens are really good writing instruments. The Apple pens are neither too heavy or too light and with just the right weight. I am a loss control consultant and I write 80 plus page reports and the Apple pen with this ink is the best combo. I replaced the Waterman Exception rollerball pen with the Apple pen because it really writes well. I will be back in San Francisco next year, and I will pick up at few more Apple pens just because they are such fine writing instruments. At $35 a piece, it is still worth it considering my Waterman Exception which I have two are over $200 a piece.

Have used these for years and the quality is still amazing. They last a long time and write very smooth. Never any gunk build-up at all either. Highly recommended.

Flows smoothly with enough tooth to grab onto paper but not as much as a ballpoint. Good coverage and blackness/density.

The refill works fine on some paper but skips on photo like paper.

My handwriting leaves a lot to be desired. But this ink refill performs very well. Fortunately, the refill fits two of my pens and, at such an affordable price, I use them often. (Such is not the case with my Mont Blanc rollerball... whose refills seem to cost more each year... causing me to use it only rarely these days, particularly since retiring.) Delivery was prompt, as well. Consequently, I keep the item in my Wish List for easy ordering! I highly recommend this product.

I’ve been using the same Tornado pen for like 15 years. I have two, one in orange and one in red. I love using Amazon to purchase my pen refills. These are great. Easy to load, writes smoothly. I imagine I’ll get many more years out of my wonderful pens as long as I can continue to buy these wonderful refills.

The ink is great. Smooth writing buuuut, my first cartridge ran out of ink on the first day of using it. Maybe I got a defective cartridge 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’ll be putting the second one in today with hopefully better results.

I was really surprised at how smooth these are - you almost can't tell from the rollerball ones. The one that I have, does smudge up, but no worse than any other pen refill.

I found this refill to write perfectly and no skipping.
