The General Instruction of the Roman Missal (Rev. Ed.) Paperback – June 15, 2011

For years, I kept seeing references to the GIRM and wanted to get a copy.When I saw it on Amazon.com, and at a reasonable price, I immediately bought one.Every priest, deacon, and anyone involved in the liturgical function of the parish should own a copy and read it.Plus, it is a good source for anyone else wishing to understand the liturgy better. Hmmm. I just talked myself into giving each of my three grown children a copy for them and their family to have.

I anticipate much fruitful reading of the GIRM. I look forward to its authoritative interpretation and application of Canon Law to the Catholic Liturgy. As a future priest, I desire to celebrate the Liturgy in all its beauty and power, both because it is due such reverence and because it will build-up the people of God, spiritually. I look forward to studying and implementing its contents in a prudent and responsible manner!

With the changes implemented November 27th, 2011 this revised edition is a must for any Liturgy Committee member; or just someone who loves the Liturgy. It is written in such a way as to enlighten; giving meaning and explanation to our traditions and norms. It would also be beneficial reading to anyone considering the RCIA process; or those desiring a true unbiased knowledge of the Catholic Faith. I highly recommend it.

I bought this to get a better reference in understanding the church rubrics while in church and during the mass. I’ve only read a couple of chapters but I’m sure it’ll help me more with my understanding as I read more of the chapters.

Great for doing research, knowing the correctness of the Liturgy of the Mass, and all related topics!

This is much more readable than the GIRM that is in the beginning of the copy of the Roman Missal that I have.

Very informative book. Incredibly helpful with my current studies!

A must for understanding the structure of the Mass and Roman Missal. Give an understanding to the instructions of the Mass that is universal. Hopefully those who get an understanding can appreciated the Mass more fully.
