ProAm USA Aluminum Speaker Stand Mount to Camera Crane Adapter 3/8-16 Inch Threaded Stud

Great piece and solid piece of gear. I used it in my speaker tripod to projector tray conversion setup to adapt the top of the speaker pole to accept a ball head mount all hardware necessary was included which was great! The only thing I wish it did was provide a little more stability on the pole because with the set screw fully tightened the adaptor still wobbles on the top portion. I also wish it was more like 15$ or less because this piece seems to be uncommonly needed and over priced.Update: the adapter was not seated properly, now that it is fully seated on the pole there is no wobble!

Great sturdy product, and paired with a heavy duty speaker stand it makes a decent crane stand.

I have a number of jib cranes and bases and they each come with one of these stand mounts; However I also found this is great for holding my teleprompter too so I picked up an extra to permanently mount on the bottom of my teleprompter. It works great. This allows easy on and off for any (heavier) item that may need a solid mount. It goes beyond simply having a quick release on a tripod.

Purchased this to mount a Manfrotto 128RC Fluid Head to a Speaker Tripod. My Speaker Tripod has the 1.500" and the 1.375" tube. This ProAm adapter is bored out to 1.400". I added some tape to the Speaker Tripod tube and now the adapter fits tight. I also had to replace the included 3/8-16 bolt to a shorter one. This allows me to place my camera 7' or higher and can shoot over everyone's head.

I tried to buy just the crane and put it on my manfrotto tripod it worked ok but it was not that steady. so i got a regular speaker stand then got this and just like that i was in the game i love it

These are okay but ProAm should manufacture them with the bearing built in so you don't have to buy it separately. It is required if you are going to use speaker stands for your crane, but don't expect quality pans with this, you won't get any. After installing this on my speaker stand and attaching my crane i immediately realized it is unusable with out purchasing the $60 bearings that ProAm sells. If I buy a crane again It will include all of the parts needed to use it out of the box. That's on me for thinking ProAm would make an adapter for speaker stands that was actually usable without buying additional parts.
