The Wood Checkers w/ Stackable Ridge - Dark Brown/Natural costs less than comparable products, have the right weight and feel for checkers, and above all, they stack neatly with a wooden ridge. The wooden checkers are made of quality material (cherry wood, perhaps?) that emit a nice smell when first opened from the well-packaged cloth bag that the checkers arrive in. Perhaps I was fortunate, but the smell of the wooden checkers was a nice indication that the people who packaged the checkers prior to shipping added a nice touch to their product, reminiscent of fresh cherry blossoms. Family played a game of checkers for the first time together in over 40 years last week. The game was both challenging and evoked memories of strategy games we played as kids. This is one game we actually enjoyed together, contrasted with the usual competitive spirit fostered with other games. They are very lightweight but of good quality, and the colors match my chess board nearly perfectly. I do really wish that the bottoms had a rubber piece or something. They slide around very easy (which for some, might be seen as a plus) and are very loud when picking them up and jumping to other squares. Other than that, they are great.

The Wood Checkers w/ Stackable Ridge - Dark Brown/Natural is an awesome product; a toy for young and old alike. The Wood Checkers w/ Stackable Ridge - Dark Brown/Natural costs less than comparable products, have the right weight and feel for checkers, and above all, they stack neatly with a wooden ridge. I'm not sure why it's so hard to find 2 inch checker pieces, but it is. I'm really glad i found these. They are very lightweight but of good quality, and the colors match my chess board nearly perfectly. I do really wish that the bottoms had a rubber piece or something. They slide around very easy (which for some, might be seen as a plus) and are very loud when picking them up and jumping to other squares. Other than that, they are great.
