HomaxJasco Bix 9310 Tile Guard Tile Grout Coating, Pack of 6

I had seen an informercial for another product and was desperate to whiten my kitchen floor tiles before a party. I heard some complaints about the brand I originally saw, but noticed that there were other similar products on Amazon. Someone said that the foam brush didn't hold out for the course of the application, but I didn't have that problem. I don't know the exact size of my kitchen (probably under 200 sq ft), but I have a small tile mosaic pattern that has a ton of grout lines. The grout was also not sealed, so it's particularly rough. The bottle got me through the whole project. The foam applicator was beginning to get torn up, but just as I was running out of the coating. I probably could have used it a little more sparingly earlier on in the project so that I wasn't trying to get it to stretch it out to the end. I guess I could have sealed it right after that, but I was down to the wire. I do notice that the grout is starting to get dark again (not nearly as bad as before). I've only had time for quick surface mopping though and I don't think it's the product's fault.One warning, just be careful about tracking the product into other rooms with your feet. I didn't get any on carpet, but it did get onto my adjacent hardwood. It seems to come off without too much strain, but it's a good idea to have a towel at the doorway if you are doing a whole room.

I was looking for a quick fix product for a staging project that would make the grout presentable...and it worked. The grout was fine, but I could not get it white with any other product without regrouting the whole floor. Like a shoe polish applicator, the tile guard grout coating was easy to apply into the grout lines. Test it on a small area first to be sure you don't damage the tile. When you are ready to coat the grout lines be sure you remove access amounts and let it dry for the recommended 4 hours to get the bright white color of new grout. It is a nice solution for a quick brightening up of a space.

We recently started renting an older apartment with a kind of gross bathroom. Most noticeably, the grout on the bathtub tiles has shrunken and turned mildew-colored. This product turned the grout white again, so my tub, while still lined by hideous pink tile, looks much cleaner and fresher.The way that this applicator applies the grout paint is not very neat, so expect to spend a few hours applying, retouching, then cleaning off excess grout paint. Our tub tiles are about 4" square, and I would recommend using a different product (maybe a grout paint pen) for anything smaller.

This is a lot of work to do but it does improve the look of darkened grout. One thing I didn't like is the sponge comes apart after about 3/4 of the bottle is used. I did end up using a artist paint brush which really worked better. It is a lot less money than having new grout put in.

I prefer the Magic Tile Grout Cleaner. Sadly Magic discontinued the pad version and only have a pen version of the product, which is way too time consuming. I preferred the pad that's why I went with Homax. The consistency of the Homax was very thin and liquidy.

This seemed like white out for grout. The applicator fell apart pretty quickly. I like the idea of it but it gave patchy results.

This is one of the best products around. It fixes discolored grout like nothing else I've ever tried (And I'm well past retirement so I've had the misfortune to waste a lot of $ on various products!)
