There are 90 cards and the game ends when you've gone through the stack of cards. One person is never allowed more than 10 cards in their hand so you could also drop that to 8 in order to keep more cards in play. I highly recommend this game. Not only is it cute, but it has fantastic graphics, the cards are sturdy and it's a mixture of a little luck and a little planning. However, the best laid plans can be blown apart at the last minute if another player draws some crazy card that is bound to make you laugh. I never tire of playing it with my 10 y/o granddaughter. Ages 7+ will do well with it. Younger ones with some help or they can be put in charge of handing out awards and handling the "moo-er." **Q: What kind of box does this game have? Is it the carton like the picture, and if yes, how does it open and close?** A: The box is as pictured, the size and shape of a milk carton. The bottom pulls out easily. It only took one play-through for my kids and I to grasp, and though it says ages 8+ it was no problem for my five year old. The game plays fairly quickly (about 20-30 mins) and is a perfect mix of take-that, set collection, and deck building.The theme pairs very well with the mechanics (ie feed the cows to make them longer!). At first it's a lot of silly take-that fun but eventually the depth starts to come through and players realize the importance of defense and also a well planned attack. Finding the right moment to steal a long cow without getting thwarted, protecting your most valuable cattle with a barn or branding, knowing when to draw cards or playing it safe to get the cow parts you need...there is plenty to think about if you want!Overall it's a lot of fun over and over. The art and theme are beautiful, and more importantly add value to the gameplay.
