...and the winner is!
My second purchase after returning a woeful Ryobi bench grinder. The Rockwell grinder is sturdy with adequate power for a home work shop, and with almost no vibration, an excellent choice at this price.

Excellent product, and was the best price I could ...
I use one end as a wire wheel to clean bolts and brass. The rubber feet have held it securely, and prevent it from scratching my stainless box top. Excellent product, and was the best price I could find for a bench grinder.

Don't bother!
I took the wheels off to add a buffer wheel. DUMB move apparently because the reverse screws are IMPOSSIBLE to get back on. One spins and loosen the other end. Major Fail!! Hate this grinder.Oh, and its loud too.

Overall I like this product and have used it quite a bit
Overall I like this product and have used it quite a bit. I have switched one grinding wheel for a twisted wire wheel and found that I needed to find and use a spacer for the wheel to properly clear the inner cover.I would have liked the tool rests to have been better designed so when I am sliding my finger along the edge as when sharpening a wood chisel, the underside part of the rest wouldn't interfere with my finger; plus, the tool rest can't be tilted to accommodate angled sharpening jobs such as chisels. When I started to plan bolting this grinder to my work bench, I soon realised that, instead of placing 4 holes at the corners of the base where the holes could be easily marked for drilling plus the heads of mounting bolts could be accessed much more easily, I had to dismount the base from the motor temporarily, adding about 15 minutes to the mounting time. Finally, I quickly found that the clear plastic of the eye guards must be of very poor quality, because a clean cloth left slight scratches in the lens the very first time I cleaned it.

Quality control problem experienced
My goal was a relatively inexpensive bench grinder to sharpen mower blades, chisels, etc. Upon receiving the first unit, I noticed that both wheels had excessive wobble. The fine wheel was centered within the protective housing but upon hand rotation noted that the left wheel was not centered and was dragging against the left side of the protective housing such that the wheel could not be turned by hand over a portion of rotation. Thinking that I could center the left coarse grinding wheel, I removed the protective shroud such that the wheel rotated freely. I turned on the motor to see if any other noticeable problems and the coarse wheel broke in half lodging one half against the tool rest and stalling the motor. The unit was returned to Amazon and with some question I decided to try a replacement. I found that the replacement unit was fine. Wobble was less than 1/64th inch at perifery on both wheels. I have only used the unit once to sharpen motor blades, so this is a short term rating. Based upon experience with the first unit, there do seem to be some quality assembly problems (made in China) and a 2 star rating provides some caution for the purchaser.

low expectations
we had to return the first none.it would not spin up,just hummed.the next one turns but the motor is gutless, you can't angle the tool rest, and if the wire wheel you will put on is even touching the guards it will not spin up.avoid this unit,it will dissapoint.
