You get what you pay
I thought this would be a good choice since it has 1.3 mp. It obviously isn't. The photos rarely come out. I have a white dog who i try to take photos of. With the flash turned off the photo is completely black. With the flash turned on the photo is flushed so white i can't tell what the photo was about. I am trying to return this as i speak. You get what you pay for. Don't let the mp fool you. You'd rather get a lower mp and pay a little more and actually have photos that turn out. The physical body of the camera does look attractive though.

SiPix StyleCam Deluxe
This SiPix StyleCam Deluxe was the first digital camera I ever purchased, although I have used a high-end Sony at work. I needed something really quickly and cheaply for an insurance claim and this camera seemed to fit the bill. The picture quality is okay for capturing pictures for my insurance claim in either direct sunlight or in low light conditions with the built-in flash. The picture in low light conditions without the flahs is faded and full of noise. Color rendition is quite poor and focus is very soft. Also don't be confused by the 1.3MP rating. A 1.3MP picture taken by an expensive camera with a large lense will be much sharper than a 1.3 MP taken by this cheap camera. The biggest gripe I have with this camera is not the resolution, but rather its absolute refusal to accept NiMH rechargeable batteries. It would give me at most 5 flashes before a set of freshly charged NiMH batteries dropped below the voltage cutoff point and the camera would then take no more pictures with the flash on. This camera absolutely DEMANDS fresh throwaway batteries, such as alkalines because it has a high voltage cutoff value. This camera doesn't use a memory card. Instead it uses a built-in 16MB memory chip. The images will stay in the camera as long as there is sufficient battery power. A couple of times my camera froze and mysteriouly reset itself even when the batteries had plenty of juice left and all the pictures in the built-in 16MB memory were lost.Installing the driver for the camera was not trivial on Windows XP. After installing the driver and included softwares and booting up as instructed by the manual, I plugged the camera into the USB port but the computer did not recognize the camera. Finally I opened up the two softwares and closed them again and then rebooted. Only then did the computer recognize the camera.Although I gave it only 2 stars, one must keep in mind that I paid only $45 (shipping included) at J&R. Therefore, relative to the very low price paid, it was a decent camera, but in absolute terms it was a lousy camera. Overall I wish I had spent $100 or more to get a much better camera. But this was an emergency camera and I was not too picky about either its functionality or quality.

good for a first
I liked how that I dropped this camera on the floor to concrete like 5 or 6 times, and it has been hit by a basket ball and still it works!! The video's on this camera are pretty pixelized, they are not choppy though. And the fact that rechargable batteries dont work on it. YOU BETTER GET ENOUGH LIGHT THIS IS AN OUTDOOR CAMERA! And unless you have a VERY bright home, go outside with this, I must say you get a little more than what you pay for. GOOD CAMERA IF IT IS YOUR FIRST ONE!

Great Digital Cam for the Price
What does one expect for [the price] Geesh.Pros: Price. It takes very good photos for using online. It is also a digital voice recorder, and quite good. It takes short videos, with sound, which are nice, again, for online. It makes a very good "Web Cam". It is small, light weight, and only uses 2 AA batteries.Cons: Bundled software Stinks. Pics aren't as good as a [more expensive] digital cam.

Good for the beginner
This camera has many excellent features that make it great for a beginner in the photography or digital camera realm, however it has a number of "bugs" that made it less than usable:It takes too long for the image to expose making any object in motion a blurry messThe button interface is simple but vague unless you happen to want to whip out the manual every time you press a button to figure out what it's trying to tell you.And finally, after all this I noticed a "blind spot" in the middle of all my pictures that even after a cleaning remained in place. Also, the product discription (at time of writing) doesn't mention that the unit lacks an LCD viewing screen. This might be good for someone looking to take a snapshot of an inatimate object, but not for much else. It would be great for people looking for a way to take pictures of things for an online auction etc...
