Upgraded 2200W 220V to 110V Converter for European Travel, Voltage Converter US to Europe for Hair Dryer Straightener Curling Iron, 2300W Power with USB Ports for Tablet Camera Cell Phone

I bought this after going through so many pages of which converter to buy and finally decided on this one. The deciding factor was it has a 2200W capacity, which was more than what the other products advertise. I used this when I was in Denmark and Sweden and I had no problems using it for my devices. It is very small, compact, and it comes with a hard shell case that is convenient for travel with different adapters inside. For it's compact size and capacity--it does the job of charging different gadgets. It comes with 1 converter plug, 1 adapter plug, and 4 usb plugs. For those deciding whether to use this for high power tools like hair straightener, curling iron, or blow dryer, I would not recommend it even though the picture says so. I would not recommend using ANY high powered device on small compact converters. You need a high capacity high power converter (not realistic because if you end up bringing ones they are usually big and bulky). So just opt into getting a hair straighter/curler/blow dryer that is dual voltage and use the adapter in this device to plug it directly in the country of your choice. That is a much safer bet and your problem is solved. That is what I do when I travel. Other than that, for multiple devices and to those who travel a lot, this is a definite must have!

Update 10/10/2020 ------------------------- Do NOT count on their warranty, it is USELESS. They do NOT stand by it, not only that, but they are terrible at communication. it's great when it works, but if it falls, No warranty !!! Pros:- 1- Looks and feel that it was very well built, and of good quality material, not cheaply made 2- It stays relatively cool (unlike other adaptors), even when left plugged for extended period of times , and uses no fans, so no noise 3- The American flag is printed on the converter side, so it act as a constant reminder as to what is converter and what it not and just act as a plug adaptor (doesn't convert current) 4- I like the USB for faster charge of your small electronics at the same time, rather than using a separate charger, so when on the go, this can replace multiple charger, different ones for iPhone, iPad, android phones etc, which is a big plus 5- comes complete with 3 plug adaptor, which makes it really versatile and universal for using almost anywhere where you need to convert the 220-240 to 110 current or even use the adaptor side with universal voltage electronics 6- Nice Hard protective travel case - although this doesn't come from all sellers, as my first one came only with a less protective travel mesh in a small nice cartoon box, but without the hard case. The confusing thing, that both sellers have the unit for exactly the same price, just slightly different photos, which was very hard to pick up on, till I came to order me second one, and this when I realized that I amassing the hard case. I contacted both sellers. Do Tech confirmed that theirs comes with the advertised hard case, and Gugule, confirmed that theirs sells only with the travel pouch, but when I asked Gugule customer service, if they can help by sending me a free case for my first order, rather than returning it and re-ordering it from the other seller. Abby from customer service, went out of her way, and contacted the other seller, which turned out to be another subsidiary from the same company, and they promised to send me another hard case for free, which they did, and that made me very happy and the nice gesture from both sellers were much appreciated Cons - or rather wishes for future improvement 1- it would be nice to have it as universal step UP/ step DOWN converter than one can take anywhere in teh world, in the same small size factor/ beautiful design 2- Although the converter side of the unit comes clearly marked with the American flag, I still can see myself plugging a 110 electronic in the wrong, plug adaptor, non converter side, ruining whatever I am trying to plug, as it can easily be done, specially when the plug adaptor is already built in, so it won't make you stop for second to rethink what you are doing, if that adaptor wasn't built in, so I would suggest adding clear wording or a stop sign in red on that sign indicating that, that side of teh unit is NOT a converter and it is to be used only by either for 110 volts machines on the same voltage, 220 Volts on the same voltage, or by a universal voltage electronics - as for me, for the time being and for my purposes, and since all I need is the step down function, I ended up putting a red post it note and taped it over, to cover the 2 plug adaptor sides, sa to act as constant reminder and hopefully help me remember not to burn another trimmer adaptor, as I already did that twice before ( NOT with the adaptor) I hope this review will be found helpful for everyone. We bought two as I am studying abroad for a semester, so $120 total. Initially worked, but the first day it fried my toothbrush charger and I didn’t realize it. About a week later it fried my laptop charger. A weird tapping sound happened as it ran which i assumed was normal since the same happened with my other adapter from a different company and then it popped and stopped charging. Had to buy a new toothbrush and had to have a new laptop charger overnighted since I needed my laptop for a virtual class. Works great for an Alexa device and USB, though. Anything plugged into the converter burns up. Gave it another chance and it blew up my camera battery charger. Shouldn’t have even tried, but being here for six months without another converter and having spent so much money on them…

So you're probably wondering why I'm writing a review at this time. I won't be going to Europe until October and I wanted to put out there what I do know so far. It works just fine here in the states. The two plugs on the right side work with my hair dryer, which was what was most important to me. All four USB ports work just fine. What I haven't been able to get to work with anything I've tried yet is the plug under the American flag. I'm very confused about that plug, even after carefully reading the instructions. I think maybe you have to have a background as an electrician or an electrical enginner to understand it, but in any case, I'm keeping it just in case that particular plug becomes a necessity when I'm overseas. I will come back and update this review when I return from my trip.

This converter worked great during my international travel. I was looking for a device that had a converter in addition to adapters because I had some devices that were not dual voltage. This converter worked perfectly for that. I did not get the chance to try using a blow dryer or flat iron with it though. I didn't expect this converter's power strip-like design to be as useful as it was but it helped me many times during my trip. The fact that it had a 6 ft cable made it easy to plug in devices without constantly needing to move around furniture to get to the wall outlet. The USB plugs were handy too as I was able to charge far more devices at once and didn't need to bring as many power bricks. Devices charged at their normal speeds. I would definitely recommend buying this over a single travel adapter since those may have trouble staying in the wall due to their bulky size.

The reason I bought this converter/adapter was to act as a high-amp plug adapter for my hair dryer on a trip to the UK. My hair dryer is dual-voltage, so I didn't need a converter per se. Simple plug adapters are only rated for 3 amps, however, not enough for the dryer. The DoAce is rated for 10 amps, which was more than enough. I almost passed it up, thinking I could borrow hair dryers, but I'm very glad I bought it and took it along. Once I got to the UK, I discovered that most of the places I stayed, even hotels, did not have USB charging ports for my phone and e-reader. I used it as a charger almost every night. And yes, the hair dryer on its 250V setting worked well in the 220-240V outlets. The DoAce is quiet, doesn't become hot with use, and comes with a convenient carrying bag that keeps unit, cord, and plug organized in your suitcase.

This DOACE unit is 220vac to 120vac converter and adapter. It has one (1) 220 to 120 vac plug, two (2) 220 vac plugs and four (4) USB 5VDC 2A ports. I just got back from 2 weeks to New Zealand. The 220VAC to 120VAC works great. I plug in my USA 120VAC electric kettle and it works fine, like being back home. The side of the unit got a little warm. I used it everyday. The adapter portion also works great where I plug in my 2 different camera battery chargers (120-220 vac). Lastly the 4 USB ports all work at 220vac and 120vac back home. I use the USB ports to charge our cell phone and fitbit watch. It also comes with a nice travel case, 3 physical adapters for global use and a 4 foot heavy duty & removable AC cable. I think this unit is much more utility than the wall plug type converter/adapter units. I just use it like an extension strip. Extremely versatile. Can't say enough good things about it. Highly recommended. 5 stars.

I recently went on a trip to New Zealand and wanted to be prepared. Though cell phones and laptops and many other such things can handle the different voltage fine, you need a plug to convert the connection either way. I didn't end up using the transformer outlet since I didn't have anything that needed it, but the four 2.1 amp USB ports were very nice to have. I could charge my phone, smart watch, headphones, friends phone, and both of it laptops all at the same time. The carrying case is compact and send quite durable. It has a little room to fit another USB cable in it which was handy for keeping everything in one place. Overall I'd say it's a great value. Now that I'm done with traveling for a while, I can use it as a power strip at home and use the USB ports which had been nice on several occasions. The only downside I can think of is that there is no ground, so it wouldn't really be good for surge protection. It's great for what it's designed for though. I wouldn't use it for long term things like a TV due to the lack of ground.
