I was pleased to find they fit several different revolvers without alteration. Universal holsters will always be 2nd rate compared to holsters made for specific firearms. These are on a par with Uncle Mike's brand. For the price they hold the gun securely. I have not tested the clip yet but they are easily replaced if necessary. I have 2 sets of these holsters, 2 with cut stiches ( 1 IWB, 1 OWB) , 2 uncut (1 IWB, 1 OWB). Guns that fit: 1911, S&W k frame and j frame, Heritage Arms,1858 old army, 1851 navy. Some required cutting stitching for better fit. I would not recommend for larger handguns like n frame S&W or Ruger Blackhawk or any heavy firearm.
