Worked great for outside of shop door, sturdy and felt safe using this.

**Product NOT recommended!** (1) Missing Part: Package received was missing a screw which was essential in the installation of the lock. (2) Flawed design and poor quality: After thinking that the installation had been completed, I tried shutting my door. To my disappointment, the hasp latch and lock weren’t aligned properly despite using the product page photos as reference, thus the side latch couldn’t even go into the slot for me to install a lock UNLESS the latch was extended PRIOR to the door being closed for it to be aligned. (3) “One-way screws”: Really? Once they were installed, there was no way for me to remove them or ask for a product refund. (4) Frustration and Disappointment after anticipating that the product would function properly: Unfortunately, once I was able insert a lock into the latch after the 2nd bullet point mentioned above, my door lock couldn’t extend at all to even lock it. Conclusion: A complete waste of money and definitely time.

This device is great and well designed. The screws that come with it are to small, so get your own screws.

This won't mount to every type of door. It needs a door without any trim.

The design on this clasp made it very easy to install and also prevents break ins by hiding the screws used to install the latch. Perfect solution for my odd shaped custom based basement door with an cider block metal frame.
