A Good ESL Tool
I am using this book to help my ESL students. It is simple and elementary, but several of my students do not speak English at all and English is very confusing to my non-native speakers, The Phonics Charts help, because many of students have children in elementary school and this is similar to what their children are doing.

GREAT TOOL
I personally love this book of charts. It has helped my grandson improve in his reading skills tremendously. It starts in the beginning with consonant sounds and covers short vowel sounds, long vowel sounds, diagraphs (ay, oa, ow etc.), and diphthongs. This book includes a phonics survey to assist you in determining where the child is in their reading skills and phoenetic understanding. Some of the words are a little advanced for younger readers (each chart gives numerous words). This book could be used with the child's spelling list or you can go online to [...], and create your own spelling lists. Another option would be to go online at [...] and download a spelling book for grades1 - 8.I would say this book gives a great comprehensive overview of the skills needed to produce great readers and is a sensational resource.
