Review: Fits perfectly and snugly - I’ve used a cheaper version in the past which broke, almost as soon as you looked at them. These have a hard shell on the outside and fit over my two outside taps perfectly. I’ve not had a frost since fitting but I do not expect to have an issue at they fit nice and snugly around the taps and the foam edging gives them a tight seal against the wall.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can anyone supply some measurements for this. Width of opening & depth. Needs to cover a bit of pipe too**
A: The internal dimensions where the shell meets the wall are approx 11cm x 12.5cm and the internal depth (front to back) is approx 14cm. I found that it fitted our modern tap that emerges from the wall on a single straight pipe. However, with our old tap, the pipe emerges from the wall and then drops 5 or 6 cm. The tap is connected to that pipe and held by a backplate that is screwed into the wall. The shell does NOT cover that tap properly even when I force it and scrunch up some of the internal insulation (not recommended). For that tap I use an insulated soft bag designed for the purpose and probably obtained from Amazon. You just tighten the cord around the pipe to hold it in place. Both seem to work well.

**Q: How does it fit to the wall**
A: Hook the loop on the inside around the tap, hold the end of the cord you see on the outside of the cover, press on the cleat to release its grip, and slide the cleat towards the wall to tighten the shell against the wall. I have found it fits comfortably around our modern tap, but I have to use a soft cover around our old-style tap as this cover doesn't fit over the pipework.

**Q: Does it have an aperture for water drips? Otherwise frozen water will negate any insulating effect.**
A: No it does not.....but it does work well to protect the outside tap.
After a week of minus 8 degrees and heavy frost My outside tap did not freeze.

**Q: I have 9cm external pipework leading to the outside tap.  Will the cover be wide enough to enclose this?**
A: For some years now, I have used this item to cover an outside tap. It only covers the tap as stated.
