How can anything be wrong? You know the songs and you know what an amazing player McC is and from what I’m learning so far these parts sound write to me.

If you love the Beatles and are having trouble learning from free tabs on the internet and can read music, this book is great. I've worked through six songs so far, and at least for those, everything seems to be dead on, with correct rhythm, phrasing and tabs. There are a number of songs that use alternate tuning, like drop d or 1/4 steps, so if something sounds off -- check the tuning.I've been only playing bass for about a year -- and these are not easy songs. I'm learning a lot and just can't stop playing. Along with the album, definitely the best $35 I've spent in a long while. I salute you, Sir Paul!I do hate the binding, but its pretty typical. A high end copy shop can chop off the binding and spiral bind it so it lays flat.

I had mistakenly ordered this book, thinking I was buying the guitar tab book. The image/title for this page was updated after I had ordered. I decided to pull out the bass and give the book a try.It's great stuff.It is accurate, but more importantly, the material is interesting enough to keep you busy and thinking about the cleverness of most of McCartney's basslines.A far cry from the earlier Beatles bass parts, which are all very rhythmically straightforward, these parts experiment a little.The bass part for With A Little Help From My Friends has a lot of nice notes swung at the end of measures. Strawberry Fields is a bit more normal than expected. Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da will challenge your endurance.These were a pleasant learning experience for someone who has been playing primarily guitar for about 10 years.

Some of these songs are not really good bass parts to learn - like "Yellow Submarine" and "Here COmes the Sun".These are great songs but not that representative of Macca's bass technique. I would have preferred to see "HEy Bulldog".Still good selection for later Beatles songs.

This is one more of the fine books of bass transcriptions available from Hal Leonard (we own most of them). While this material is too difficult for the beginner, it is GREAT for the more experienced bassist. AND if you're a marginal reader in the upper positions (like me), using these TAB annotated arrangements can help you develop proficiency reading all over the fretboard---which is not a bad thing at all. NOTE the TAB is written for traditional 4-string basses only.

I have transcribed many of the songs in this book before this book was available. I'm sorry to say there are quite a few problems with the transcription accuracy in this book on the songs I have looked at - wrong key changes, wrong time changes, and wrong notes. A Day in the Life is just one example. If you are a beginner, the inaccuracies will not bother you, but for advanced players it is frustrating to get a book labeled "Recorded Versions". I have bought many Hal Leonard books in the past and have not had the issues as with this one. If you are going to transcribe masterpieces - Do it right! I would recommend the yellow Beatles bass book as alternative to this one.

Si tocas el bajo y te gusta Paul, este libro te va a gustar.Hubiera sido genial acompañarlo de un disco Play Along, para los estudiantes.

The book is advertised as for Piano, Guitar, Voice, but it is a very specialized, very difficult to read recreation of Bass Lines in Beatles recordings. Suitable for a bassist only. Useless for a piano-playing singer.I wonder if the seller even realizes what they have sent me.
