Pentel Energel Alloy Retractable Liquid Gel Pen, (0.7mm) Medium Line, Silver Barrel, Black Ink, 1 Pack (BL407BP)

If you have a young person that struggles with writing or doesn't like to write, this might be the pen for them. First of all this pink EnerGel pen is gorgeous! The color is a very pink rose gold. I'm a self diagnosed pen junkie and realized long ago the right one makes a huge difference. This one has the perfect weight to it. Not lightweight like a disposable pen, but not too heavy. The "liquid gel ink" writes so smooth and effortlessly and dries immediately with absolutely no smudging. It comes with a medium point black ink cartridge that is a true ink black color. As with most pen people I prefer a specific point size and ink color and personally I prefer a medium over a fine point and blue ink over black. I ordered an additional two pack of EnerGel medium point 0.7 mm blue ink cartridges (from Amazon for less than $3.00) and couldn't be happier. I love that a refillable pen allows the flexibility of choosing color and point size. Because of technology I don't handwrite near as much as I did and my penmanship has suffered. With this pen I find myself intentionally writing more and my handwriting has returned to normal. I think this pen would be great for students or anyone who is looking to improve their quality and quantity of handwriting. I'll probably order another one in a different color because they're just so nice looking. Included pictures ~ first with and then without the flash on.

As a pen fanatic, the Pentel EnerGel Alloy RT Premium Liquid Gel Pen is easily one of my favorites. The metal barrel feels solid and premium, and the violet finish adds a stylish touch. The 0.7mm tip writes incredibly smooth with bold, fast-drying black ink—no skipping or smearing. It’s comfortable for long writing sessions and looks great on any desk. Highly recommend for anyone who truly enjoys a great pen.

Ok. So I have tried many, many pens over the years. I have an obsession with pens, pencils, markers and office/art supplies in general. Previously, my all time favorite pens were the Flair's, the felt tip ones. I had used some gel rollers in the past but did not like them for various reasons, either they were not smooth to write with, the ink would smudge easily or whatever else. These pens, the EnerGEL series, this includes these alloys, the pearls and the RTX's, are all absolutely the best pens I have ever used. I picked up a full set (every color) of the RTX's, and immediately fell in love with them. Amazing ink, smooth as silk and actually makes my handwriting look WAY better. They are a pleasure to hold and use. The colors are vibrant and really pop off the pages. Next, I picked up some of the Pearls , these are very nice looking pens with the white grip and details. Awesome. Finally, I went ahead and ordered a silver alloy one as well as a box of ink refills. This is easily my all time favorite pen. I got my Wife a purple one and she also, is in love with it. I do not let my co-workers touch this pen as I don't want it getting stolen. When I get up from my desk for a quick break or even more a moment, it comes with me. These are easily the nicest pens in existence. I plan on getting a full set of alloys be over the next few months as well as boxes of ink refills. The value is outstanding. Just order one already! 👍

I love the normal plastic EnerGel pens, and this metal one simply improves on the classic. I still haven’t found a pen in this price range that can top these. Pilot Precise V5, Pentel Kuro, Sharpie pens, etc. are all trash compared to these haha. Side note, so apparently these metal pens CAN come from Amazon in normal retail packaging. Just don’t get your hopes up, because all of the other ones I’ve bought from Amazon either come in a cheap cellophane sleeve or just loose in an Amazon bag. YMMV

the greatest pen ever made. its pretty, and worth the money

This pen is better then expected. My spouse and I appreciate decent quality pens. When I saw this pen, its appearance drew me in, it looks like a more expensive pen. I made the purchased for two of them, I also purchased a small metal presentation case and gifted one to my better half. It's inexpensive so who cares if she looses it or if it stops working. It's slightly bigger and more substantial then any of my other pens, I didn't see that coming, but for its size and appearance it's not that much heavier. I compared it to other pens that i use frequently and it's pretty robust looking, but we still like it. We haven't had any issues with the cap as others have pointed out and it writes pretty smooth, no issues there, were pleased with it, as of right now it's my go to pen. I haven't dropped it yet, so i dont know how much abuse it can actually take that's why i only gave it four stars, it feels comfortable in the hand and I've gotten compliments on it. Go figure, I have a brass TI pen that's overlooked but this inexpensive pen gets admired by most. I made this purchase with my own funds. It was not provided by the vender nor did I receive a discount on it in favor of my review. If anything changes i will provide an update. This is my honest review, hope it helps.

I been using Pentel Energel for a long time. It’s a great pen to use. It writes very smooth and the alloy version has enough weight for me. It’s not too heavy and but its not too light. The ink it came with was made in Japen but the alloy is made somewhere else. This was bough as a gift and she loved it. I bought this on Oct 8th, 2025 for $6.29

Bought this for partner who is left handed - loves it! Pen arrived in original kind of cheap looking packaging but I re packed it into a gift box.

Der Stift schreibt weich und die Tinte läuft flüssig ohne zu verschmieren. Würde ich wieder kaufen.

The ink is starting to run out after just a few weeks with little use.

Good looking and highly functional.
