You need this torch!! It is small (about the size of a thumb) but packs more punch than the hulk on a particularly bad day.I have other Olight torches so wasn’t surprised with the quality of the torch. It has a great wide beam with plenty of throw too. Ideal for work, dog walks, throwing in the glove box etc.Holds its charge well, and the magnetic recharge is fairly quick too. The magnetic tail cap/charging point also doubles up as a great way to fix the torch to any metal surface for hands free use, think underside of car bonnet and you get the picture.Just be warned these torches are addictive, I’m trying to justify more Olights, but apparently we don’t need one for every room in the house.

Torch arrived a day earlier than expected and was well packaged. Fully charged it after unboxing and took it out to try after dark. The performance from something so small is nothing short of incredible. On turbo mode it’s way brighter than expected and has excellent reach. On the next two settings down it’s perfect for normal use like dog walking and on the lowest setting great if you don’t need much power. The magnetic charger works well and I can see the magnetic base being useful. It’s expensive for such a small torch but you get what you pay for. Highly recommended !

It looks like I'm one of the first to buy this torch from Amazon so I’ll give a little more detail than I usually do…I bought the Olight S1R II as I wanted a small torch to use in the garage and when working on my car. I already have the Olight M2R so I knew what the quality of the Olight torches are. The M2R is my go to torch, I take it out when walking the dogs and because of it’s size I always take it away on trips with us. The Olight S1R II fills a gap for me, I've seen people hook similar lights on to their hats when working, I tried this with my M2R but it was too heavy and my hat kept falling off, the S1R II is perfect for this job.OK, so the Olights aren’t the cheapest on the market but they sure aren't the most expensive. I have a cheaper torch that was actually recommended in a photography magazine to buy, it had an adjustable beam which is nice but the build quality is rubbish and the charge port is very fragile. The Olight is a fantastic build and it comes with a handy carry pouch to store the torch and charge cable… OK, the charge cable is magnetic and if you lose this whilst away you’ll really struggle to replace it. The positive thing is I have only charged my M2R torch once since I bought it and I've used it more or less every day since (not for long periods of times). I'm, sure this charge cable will work on my M2R so I now have a spare.The beam is bright and seems on a par with its larger brother (see photo;S1RII on the left ). You can adjust the brightness of the light. The torch is smaller than I expected it to be, but that’s probably a positive for me.For those who care about packaging I've put a few photos of the packaging. It’s premium packaging and someone has actually put some thought in to making you feel like you've bought a great product.The torch has only just been delivered so I’ll do a follow up review if I find any annoyances/issues. If you’re reading this in the future and I haven’t updated the comments you are safe to assume I didn't run in to any.

I needed a small but super bright torch for work in roof voids that would always be with me in my leatherman case. I researched everything about them and the Olight wasn’t the one I wanted.....BUT... in the UK many of the other brands were stripped of the battery and charger that come in the box when buying the exact same lights in the USA (yeah check that small print) which considerably adds to the cost. The Olight comes with everything, and by chance it’s flippin awesome. I wanted an end button for ease of use but find the powerful magnet more useful as it attaches to electrical panels and aircon ventilation ducts for overhead light. It remembers the last function so you can turn it on and off without the faff of clicking through all the functions every time you turn it on or off. When you get used to it there are short cuts to those functions anyway. Then there’s the battery life, it’s loooooooooong. I use this to light up a whole area and spend hours working under it, and it’s tiny!! It’s never run out on me and the strong magnetic charger snaps instantly onto the back when I get back into the car so it’s always ready. These are not cheap but they are certainly excellent :)

If your in the market for a small, pocket sized, brilliantly designed, every day carry flashlight/torch..then this little monster is your huckleberry!Its built like a tank and with its USB magnetic charging cable, probably one of the easiest, most convenient lights you will ever own! Everything about this light is right! If you own it..you just wont need any other torch.Don't just take my word for it though.. read the reviews!
