Sing and Rejoice: Favorite Hymns in Large Print (Favourite Hymns in Large Print with Lower Keys)

I received Sing and Rejoice today and was glad that I ordered this book. One day, I hope to be able to play for Hospice or a rest home. I have been playing from the book today, many of the songs that I love and I find the arrangements quite easy; but I would rate the book as Late Intermediate. It is written for Seniors in retirement settings and is a great find. The words are large and the music is easy to read. According to the jacket, the book was written especially for poor eyesight and apparently for pianist who are at least advanced. The songs have been chosen in an integrated manner for most all faiths and I think it is perfect for the Hospice and Rest Home setting. For piano students, this book is a great find! I love it. I can't wait to show my piano teacher. I have been studying arrangements of Gospel Music;but, Sing And Rejoice seems to compile such music into a "compact" one page format with the words just beside the music.

I had looked a long time for a publication like this. It is used regularly in a retirement community. The accompanists and the participants enjoy the lower key that these traditional hymns are in. The large print is helpful, though most participants know the words by memory.

It has all the songs that folks in care centers grew up with. It is a little heavy, but almost has to be to include 120 hymns. It would have 5 stars if the guitar chords had been included. Having the verses on one page and the music on the opposing page has its benefits, but also a drawback. I like the verses on the same page in old hymnbook style to be able to read the music and sing the right verse at the same time. But, then they may not have been able to use the large print, which is very nice.I passed them out at the care center I visit every week and the residents appreciated them very much.

I have enjoyed playing the hymns in this collection, many are my favorites. The print is clear and large and easy to read. Beware that there are some typos. For example, in the Christmas section, "Hark, The Herald Angels Sing" is missing the key signature on most of the staves! You will find the others as you play. But besides this it is a really nice collection and I am glad I bought it.

If you're looking for a book of hymns that the average person can sing comfortably, this is it. This is a terrific book for group singing as well as easily playable for a pianist. Very easy to read both the music and the words. Good quality printing and came very quickly. The only small issue is that additional versus are printed on a separate page instead of below the first one. This would only be an issue if the pianist is also the singing leader. Regardless, I would highly recommend this book.

I enjoy playing many of these hymns. Some I cannot play (even though I am familiar with them) because I learned them in flats and these hymnsare in written with sharps. Wish I had known this because naturally I would prefer the key to be what I had previously learned them in!

There are 120 hymns here with words to all the verses and complete treble and bass cleft notes. Since no other review, nor the description stated how many pages or hymns, I wanted to let people know the total number included. They are in the sequence of the church calendar, so it includes a good section for Christmas, Easter, etc. My 95 year old mom and I are very pleased with the selection and the font size.

Great and plan to use for preludes

This item really cheered up my Mum during lockdown! She can now see her favourite music and words for the older hymns she loves, and play her piano. Good item.

I am very happy with this book, the print is really clear, the one hymn to a page is great , the book contained all the old traditional hymns that I was brought up with, and some from the redemption hymnal, an excellent book, sits on the music stand nicely, I am totally happy, and would recommend this book for people like myself that was having difficulty with small music print. Well worth the money

Book was great but had to return it because it wasn’t suitable for which it was bought. Senior with impaired vision.

Clear notation. Simple to follow.Helpful contents page and indexes.Large print text is a bonus.'Traditional' hymns only included; if you need modern ones you'll need an alternative.

Took forever to arrive but very pleased with the quality and content once I got it.
