Remove and seal fasteners.
When I looked into the pre-drilled holes to secure the side arms I could see that the inside of the platform is wood. The ladder is already on the platform when you receive it. Everyone should remove all factory installed fasteners and then reinstall them using a marine grade sealant such as 5200. I doubt the platform would have a long life with water soaking into the core wood through the fastener holes.
