I’m not an Authority here by no means but I would suggest wash the toy in a washing machine! Cold water as not melt any plastic parts. Or wash by hand.

Q: How can I get my puppy to get use to it? She backs up when the heart beats

When I brought my pup home, I had it in her bed. I let her sniff around and get used to things. I did not turn it on until she got used to it next to her. I also had an old alarm clock that ticked (loudly). After a while I turned the heart beat on. It didn't bother her but she began to try and get it out. In fact, she eventually unzipped it and got it out. I finally took out the heart beat because she continually dug it out. She loves it now (1yr) as her "baby". She drags it around everywhere. And the cutest is if I pretend to cry, she gets her baby and brings it to me. Good luck!
