excellent study of the biblical history of God’s chosen (then and now) people
While the world is turning against the Jews yet again, it’s important to study the truth about this complex, multidimensional people of God. The book of Genesis gives us that historical account as well as reveals God’s plan for all of humanity.Dr. Morris’ book guides the reader through the text and fleshes out details from history, science, and most importantly: Scripture.Though the Bible text is from the KJV and broken with pronunciation characters and sometimes odd symbols, it’s very easy to read your own preferred translation in parallel.Highly recommended. This is my second read through.

Just phenomenal!
This book was required reading for a Pentateuch class. However, I continued to be blown away chapter after chapter to the way this book was woven together. In fact, the way the story of Joseph was told, literally had me in tears and that I am certain was not the author’s point. But the gravity in the way he expressed the telling of that story and the position of Judah in his repentant heart to Joseph…goodness…well worth the read.

My favorite book of the Bible
Since coming to faith in Yeshua Messiah I have been very drawn to the book of Genesis and have studied it now for over 25 years. I'm no scholar but this book The Genesis Record is hard to put down. I love reading it and it has given me new insights into my favorite book of the Bible.

A must read for any believer
Arguably the best book on Genesis out there and I have read quite a number. There is no doubt that Mr Morris is a spirit filled, faith based believer. The book has everything, from your Hebrew language analysis to scientific/geological/Anthropological/Archeological analysis. And to crown it Morris presents concrete faith based perspective to the various narratives that we encounter in the book of Genesis. The gap theory is thrown out, but Morris does not spend any major time on debunking the gap theory, just snippets here and there in the book is enough for anyone studying this book with the Holy Spirit to throw the gap theory in the trash bin. There is no doubt from the book that God created man to be his equal, talk eyeball to eyeball. I like that Morris takes the bible literally for what it says, 1 day is 1 day for instance not that 1 day is 1000 or a million. I will highly recommend this book to all believers. And non-believers as you are moved by the Holy Spirit.

Excellent Service, Good Shipping...
I bought this book for my friend (about 50 years old), who is really into these theories and creation research... He is a good fellow. He believes in Christ, just as I do, and has a passion in looking at and examine God's word. This book, The Genesis Record, opens up the first book of both the bible and the books of Moses, which is Genesis. The word Genesis means "beginning", but a closer translation to it is "origin". The book of Genesis really shows the origin of our world, and "our" faith, Christianity, and the author, Henry M. Morris, helps the reader learn about this it. It is amazing how the whole bible is based (founded) upon the book of Genesis. The New Testament books also refer back to the book of Genesis many times. This is not all. Looking at the book of Genesis we can examine it, and compare it to the book of Revelations, (the last book of the bible), and see how the were/will be many similarities and many contrasts in the Garden of Eden and the New Earth and Heaven (the New Jerusalem). I have only read the first chapter (of the 22) of the book, but it was so enlightening. I like this book also because it helps the people in faith, the reader of the bible, God's word, to understand more the book of Genesis. It helps the reader to look at Genesis not just as a book about generations, and little stories, but rather to look at it as it connects the whole bible together, shows God's plan for mankind, and also helps to see how this book came to be.I am young in my faith, but I believe that God is able to help me study his word, and to look at other sources (carefully (so not to be deceived to understand His being more and more each day...Thanks, David

Highly recommend this.
None can be compared to that of Dr. Morris' commentary on Genesis. Both scientific, and devotional. Easy-to-read. Highly recommend this.

A "must" read for every Theistic Evolutionist.
An extremely well-written book being, as the cover says, both a scientific and devotional commentary on the 'Book of Beginnings. Whether the reader is a believer in six literal days of creation or believes in God but "evolution is the way He did it" the book is a useful tool, exploring every aspect of the narrative thoroughly. The latter often believe it doesn't really matter if the Genesis record is taken literally or not but this book will make you really consider that position afresh. You don't have to accept all that the author says, of course, and the material is presented in such a way that you can turn to any of the 22 itemised chapters to study and contemplate any particular area you are studying.Having read the reviews before purchasing I was a bit skeptical but the book proves to be an extremely good buy.
