This one is very smooth with shallow recessed groves and a non-stick finish. I think the rougher texture and raised grid lines "old school" thawing trays have more surface area and thaw twice as fast. ### ⭐ Does Not Work As Described *by K***E on Reviewed in the United States on January 30, 2019* It doesn’t work. I wish it had, but i’ve tried bacon, chicken, pork, and beef and none seem to work the way it’s explained.
