This book is definitely worth the price.
I am about half way through John Hyde's book and I have learned a lot about the FX3. The examples alone make the book worth the price. I also got the EZ-USB FX3 Superspeed Explorer Kit and the companion CPLD board which are a great bargain. The book and boards will show you everything you need to know to get a USB 3.0 application up and running. Cypress provides all of the software to construct a complete development environment FOR FREE. If you have the need to develop a USB 3.0 SuperSpeed device, this is definitely the cost effective way to get started and get done fast. Buy this book and the EZ-USB FX3 Superspeed Explorer Kit now.

A good intro to RTOSes
A good intro to RTOSes, USB3, and the Cypress FX3 chip in particular. However, doesn't go into interfacing the FX3 with other chipsets (MPU, etc.), and although you could easily come up with something yourself after reading this, I wish it had given some insights into that area.

I am happy to get a chance to study your "SuperSpeed Device ...
I am happy to get a chance to study the "SuperSpeed Device Design By Example" book.I think that the book will be very helpful to understand Cypress Fx USB IC and develop our company's product.

examples are ONLY for demo
A good book to review the all the hardware resources of FX3 and RTOS However some of its example have bugs and errors and thus they're only good for demo or tutorial purpose.

Requires purchase of hardware, and requires a windows machine.
is ok for what it covers. Some information is sketchy. Requires a Windows machine. Requires buying a couple of boards to try the examples.

Good companion to use with the Cypress eval board.
This is a good guide to use with the Cypress eval board. It will get you and running quickly. As a guide it will give you a good foundation so when you dive into the data sheet and app notes you have a good idea of what you are looking for.

Scam
the book is just a printed CYUSB3KIT-003 PDF not a book described, has 53 pages not 300.

Bueno.
Muy bueno, aunque se echa de menos la continuidad respecto al libro anterior.

Just buy it. I didn't for a long time, and I wish I'd bought it much sooner.
If you're using the FX3, just buy the darn book - you won't regret it. I worked with the device for several years without getting this and learned the hard way. John's writing style is fairly quirky and there's some esoterics that should have been skipped to keep the pace up, but the organisation is fair and gives a decent introduction to USB3 itself and the FX3 device. The main criticism I have is that the book ends too soon. You're on chaper 10 and it's only just introducing "Moving real data" and you feel like there's a good thickness of book left, but the last 20% or so is just a straight copy of the FX3 user guide you can download for free anyway.and I was left feeling somewhat short changed as the book was missing depth at thickest end.

This is indispensable for any good technical book
The only thing this book is missing is an index. This is indispensable for any good technical book.

Four Stars
A 'standard' reference for USB developers. Well worth having around if you are developing USB3 devices.
