Great aperitif
Good value for money reminds me of being in France and a great aperitif.

Lower abv absinthe with licorice.
Imagine a fine absinthe - the only one I'd genuinely describe as "fine" is the pricey La Fรฉe Parisienne, as all the others have been chock full of artificial colours and flavouring - but somewhat dialed back on the alcohol and a little extra added sugar and some licorice extract. Deceptively strong (45% abv) yet exceptionally smooth and transparent ethanol (drinkable alcohol if you didn't already know), with aniseed and a little extra sugar sweetness, a touch of herbal bitters and a lingering licorice finish. If it wasn't for the added sugar (I'm trying to avoid diabetes in addition to just about dodging liver disease!) this would be a regular weekend delivery, x2 minimum, especially since it's frequently on a discount of around the ยฃ23 mark.

Nice
We usually buy Pernod as it's easily available in the supermarket, but I find this has a nicer mouthfeel and flavour.

Just like the Pastis bought in French supermarket.
This is a top quality pastis suitable for drinking , as traditionally, with water or in our case with any other drinks like tonic water etc.
