At first I didn't really get the spiked/scoopy end, but it's actually amazing for removing the stuck-on cuticle tissue! Use the pusher side to push the proximal nail fold back, then use the pointed side to gently scrape away any tissue stuck on the nail plate. It's a sturdy material and easy to keep clean and sanitized. Never got rusty after soaking in barbicide. Even fresh out of the package, the pusher side isn't so thin that it's 'sharp' enough to scratch up the nail plate or cut anyone, which lots of pushers shockingly are.
