It is a lighweight rug, which is what I wanted for my kitchen floor. The size was also perfect to cover an area of the wood floors that had some damage. Love this rug, I looked everywhere, picked a few other ones that I returned, but fell in love with this one when I received it. I added a pad to keep it in place. I think it will last, so am very excited to highly recommend this rug. It has a similar look to washable rugs, but does state that it has to be only vacuumed and professionally dry cleaned. I don't think I want to dry clean it, so will just keep it spot cleaned, but I truly expect it to last and look beautiful. The colors are amazing.
